Our Engagement Story

On April 17th, 2026 we woke up in Fairhope Alabama. Brayden had surprised me with the getaway trip a week before (convenient that I work for his dad and he could coordinate my PTO). Brayden had lived there for a year right before we met and I wanted to visit to get a glimpse into that time of his life. We started the morning by grabbing coffee and breakfast from Provision and walking around the neighborhood to look at the beautiful houses. After stopping back at the Air B&B to freshen up, we spent the day bopping around all the shops downtown. In one of the shops, Brayden and I each got a postcard to remember the trip by. I got a cute and aesthetic one and Brayden got one of a sunset on the water. When we worked up an appetite we grabbed a bite to eat at Pearl and shared some delicious oysters and a killer shrimp salad! Brayden made sure I had oysters every night of the trip because he knows how much I love them (most of all I love sharing them with him :)). Once we got into the afternoon it was time to head back and freshen up. Brayden told me that we were going to The Grand for dinner. He made sure I was wearing the dress I had bought years ago and told him I wanted to get engaged in. Once we finished getting ready we hopped into the Porsche Brayden had rented for our trip (he truly made every detail of the trip perfect) and started to “drive to the Grand”. Needless to say we didn’t arrive at The Grand, we arrived at a tucked away boardwalk to a private beach. We stepped onto the sand, I took off my heels and Brayden grabbed my hand for a stroll. After passing a dead fish on the beach and seeing a random dog swimming in the water all alone, Brayden got down on one knee, told me how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and asked me to marry him!! I was immediately overcome with joy and love and gratitude. It felt like everything in my life has lead me to that moment with him. All glory to God for being so intentional and weaving our paths together. We are so excited to walk this path together and with God at the center! When we got home from our trip Brayden handed me the post card he had gotten and gave it to me as a souvenir of our engagement at sunset on the water. That’s just one example of how thoughtful and caring Brayden Lambert is… and he’s mine!!
