We love looking back at the story of how we met because it's amazing to relive all of the moving parts and decisions that lead us to one another. We both attended college on tennis scholarships to fulfill our individual goals of competing at a collegiate level. Pete competed for Southern Illinois University - Carbondale (SIUC) and I competed at the University of Illinois - Springfield (UIS). In Pete's last year of competition, SIUC cut the tennis teams, forcing him to find a new school where he could complete his athletic career. As you may have guessed, he chose UIS! A few short days after the semester began, Pete "waved" at me through Facebook messenger and we began getting to know each other. The rest is history :)

Pete and I planned a trip to Universal Orlando during our Thanksgiving break. We got to the entrance of the parks before the sun came up and wanted to continue our tradition of taking a photo together in front of the Universal globe. We asked a sweet family to take our "photo". We posed for a couple seconds before Pete turned me toward him and popped the question! :)
