Katie was swiping one day at the beginning of January 2020 on Bumble, and she found a beautiful blonde, just her type. She loved that they had similar interests like Disneyland, singing, tv shows, and a need for travel. Katie saw that her “in” was talking about the tv shows they both liked. So she messaged her asking her what her favorite shows were, but wound up sending it without realizing she misspelled “shows” for “shoes”. She was off to a great start. Kaitlyn was at work when she got the message and waited a few agonizing hours to respond. The “shows” typo had them started on a great foot when it got Kaitlyn to smile after a long day. Just like that, the two of them spent the next several hours messaging back and forth until morning before they planned their first date. Though Katie was horribly nervous and the pizza they made came out tough, the conversions they had were deep and they enjoyed watching their favorite movies. Their second date was two days after the first, January 26th, 2020. They went to the mall, had lunch, went to ‘Build-A-Bear’, then watched more movies at home. They shared their first kiss while listening to ‘So This is Love’ from Cinderella and, afterwards, drove to ‘Sonic’ for milkshakes. There, they talked about a possible relationship, and decided to become girlfriends! Little did they know only a few weeks from then that the world would shut down because of Covid-19. Times were scary, but their lives quickly merged together where they’d spend days on end together, being the happiest they had ever been in their lives. Picnics with sparkling sodas and charcuterie boards became a regular date theme, the beach became a new date spot, and downtown Disney gave them the little Disney magic they desired. On October 6th 2020, just over six months of dating, they got engaged. Katie proposed first at 1:15pm, Kaitlyn proposed second at 1:17pm. They spent their engagement enjoying the newly reopened world and decided to visit Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Napa Valley. They adopted their first cat, Ophelia, in September 2021 and she joined them on their trips to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. They recently added Nova, a Russian Blue kitten, to their little family. Kaitlyn and Katie have enjoyed planning their wedding together over the past year. The two of them have combed over every detail and they look forward to the life they will continue to build together. In June 2024 Katie and Kaitlyn plan on moving to Vermont. There, Katie will work in Bed and Breakfasts' until she can open her own with her mother, while Kaitlyn will begin her career as a life coach.
