U.S. National Whitewater Center
One of our favorite places in Charlotte, the Whitewater Center is the perfect place for people who want to enjoy the outdoors. Located roughly 25 minutes from the Ballantyne area, the Whitewater Center offers a variety of outdoor activities including whitewater rafting, paddle boarding, zip lining, hiking, and more!
The Bowl at Ballantyne
The Bowl at Ballantyne is a newly-opened dining district right in the heart of Ballantyne. Filled with some of Charlotte's favorite restaurants, The Bowl offers space and playgrounds for kids to run around, an outdoor amphitheater, and one of Charlotte's largest biergartens in Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. This area is within walking distance of both hotels.
Legion Brewing South Park
Legion Brewing in South Park is the site of our first date! It is located near the popular South Park Mall, which is roughly a 15-minute drive from Ballantyne. In addition to Legion Brewing, Charlotte offers a large variety of breweries around the city, including our favorites: • Sycamore Brewing • HopFly Brewing Co. • Middle James Brewing • Seaboard Brewing
Matthews
Kaitlyn's neighborhood for six years, Matthews is a small town near Charlotte that is near and dear to her heart. Matthews is located about 20 minutes from Ballantyne, and its downtown area is home to several shops, restaurants, a brewery, and a scenic greenway.
Freedom Park
Charlotte has various parks and greenways throughout the city. Freedom Park is one of Charlotte's largest parks, and it is located minutes from uptown Charlotte.
