Technically, we briefly met on Mother's Day in 2023 at church. Will returned to church in October of 2023. What immediately got my attention was his eyes. After service he disappeared and I'm not going to lie, I was a tad disappointed I didn't get to talk to him. I started talking to some friends in the lobby, then he appeared again!! My dad intercepted him, striking up a conversation that led to them starting to exchange phone numbers. I thought "this is my time to shine"! I was not about to let another couple of months pass without talking to this man. So, me trying to be cool, I walked up to Dad and Will and proceeded to say "Dad, do you need help entering in his phone number?" They both looked up at me with utter confusion and I immediately got flustered. I started stumbling over my words and Ramon says, "Will, have you met my daughter?". We got to talking and as soon as the words, "Yeah I went to FSU for school" came out of his mouth.... THE REST IS HISTORY. I knew HE was my man!

As Kaitlin mentioned, the first time we met was on Mother's Day. I immediately noticed how beautiful she was. It was also the first time I had met Jan. I foolishly asked Jan if they were visiting, to which she replied, "Yeah, for about 10 years - where have you been?" If you know Jan, you can almost hear her saying this. In October, I came back to church because both of my aunts happened to be in town. Ramon was preaching that day, and he delivered a powerful message. I came up to him after the service to share how much it meant to me. He invited me to have a Bible study with him which I agreed to do. As I took my phone out to take his contact info - Kaitlin walked up asking if she could help. We spoke for about 5 minutes right there in the foyer and had a great conversation. It was at this time that Jan walked up and invited me over to their house for lunch. Fate was on my side as they happened to be hosting several guests that day. I said yes to lunch and got to spend more time with her and her family. We had a great time and she's been a blessing in my life ever since.
