Kait tries to go every year.. 1st place the sun hits on the East Coast each morning- need a reservation but can usually get one 2 days out from when you want to go. Totally worth a 4am wake up. Trust me
Kait didn't know this hike existed until our 2nd summer in Maine with the boys. Now apparently its a regular hike local high schools do. Incredible to see it still intact.
A glass of blueberry lemonade, comfy Adirondack chair, view of the Bubbles Mountains.. literally can’t beat it, perfect Maine afternoon. Local tip: put your name in for a reservation, walk the pond or do Jordan Cliffs Trail, come back and your reservation for lunch will be ready!
total local hang out. Ask Ben or Max or even Willie to take you. They'll teach you how to broad jump so you clear the cliff and land safely. Definitely a Maine tradition to be passed on.
gorgeous way to see the island from the water, all on a beautiful tall ship.
Special way to see the islands you'll be looking at all weekend. Catch the mailboat off the dock on the Shore Road in Manset or at the Town Dock in SWH on Clark Point Road – google Iseford for a ferry schedule. A glimpse into year-round island-living is fascinating: be sure to stop into the small museum, wander up to the general store and one-room schoolhouse and stop into the handful of terrific art galleries
