They met at Girl Scout camp, yes you've read that right, Girl Scout camp. Kaitlin had arrived back to camp after canoeing on the Susquehanna river for 5 days and 4 nights. For some background, you bring all your food with you for the week that you cook over a campfire, you pack all belongs into a 'dry bag', you sleep in tents on the side of the river, and you don't shower for the week. So the state of Kaitlin when she arrived back at camp was not pretty. Tradition is you come back, and everyone screams and runs across the big lawn to the lake where you jump in and sing your theme song on the floating dock. Well, when Kaitlyn saw Kaitlin running across the lawn, yelling and covered in filth, she said, "I want to be friends with that one!" She followed Kaitlin around until a friendship bloomed. They became fast friends that resulted in a small two week romance in high school that ended as they usually did, in tears and heartbreak. But over the years through high school, college, and doctorate degrees the two of them were on again and off again friends. But no matter the state of their friendship, where in the world and timezone Kaitlin was living, when Kaitlin would get drunk, she'd call Kaitlyn to talk. And she always answered, even when it was the wee hours of the morning and she was awoken with the call that said, "oops this is a bad idea" and was hung up on. When Kaitlyn had finished Law school, and Kaitlin had come home from her travels with her veterinary education, they sparked their friendship back up. Mainly they hung out at the V-Spot, a dive bar is Scranton where they drank and listened to live music while their connection and romance bloomed, despite Kaitlin denying it at every turn. She told poor Kaitlyn they were just friends until she was blue in the face. But she was hiding her feelings that she was sharing with her best friend Ashley, the Maid of Honor. One drunken confession on New Years Eve at midnight and even more time because Kaitlin cannot handle her own emotions, their love blossomed. Both of them feeling love and comfort that transcended the short time they had been together. Fast forward to a secret engagement in Jamaica and then to their wedding day. The rest is history to be written.
