Door County, Wisconsin has been a very special place to the bride and groom for many years now. For Katie’s family, this location has been a go-to vacation spot for generations. Katie has been coming up to Door County with her family ever since she was a baby. Alex was introduced to the area for the first time in 2017, and has been re-visiting with Katie’s family ever since. Door County is known for its’s charming coastal towns, and hundreds of miles of pristine Lake Michigan shoreline. In addition to its picturesque surroundings, the beaches, bluffs, goats, boats, ice cream and art in Door means there is always something fun to do and explore. It is the sincerest hope of the couple that their wedding becomes a weekend of fun-filled memories with family and friends for everyone.

Once upon a time, in a land of ten thousand lakes, a fair (but spray tanned) maiden lived. Little did she know that she would someday meet her Prince Charming somewhere Grand. One autumn evening while walking her dogs Bauer and Pumpkin down the avenue (Grand Avenue), fate stepped in and introduced her to her Prince. With his charm, fabulous hair, and humor he swept …. Bauer, the dog…. off her feet. You see, he had picked up the pup while proclaiming “I have the power”. The young maiden, Katie, was beside herself with laughter after kindly correcting the handsome young prince, Alex “ummm, so, her name is actually Bauer. Not Power”. The two both burst into laughter at this cute and comical mishap. And over 8 years later, they still fondly remember that moment and still laugh over it. Katie and Alex first met in September of 2015 in St. Paul, Minnesota. They met on the patio of a popular coffee shop while she was out walking her dogs. Katie always knew someone, if not everyone, at the neighborhood coffee shop anytime she stoped by. However on this night, someone new was there, Alex. Their mutual friends introduced them, and after making Katie laugh, the two began talking. As it would turn out, Alex had just moved in two doors down from where Katie lived. The two exchanged numbers and soon Alex began accompanying Katie on her evening walks with her dogs, ‘the girls’. The two began as friends, that just so happened to also be neighbors and just so happened to be in the same social circles. As they began spending more time together, they became very good friends. Alex began offering to pick her up after work, as they both also worked in restaurants with similar hours. It wasn’t long until the two began to grow quite fond of one another and officially began dating. And as they say, the rest is history. Over the course of their relationship, Alex moved back to the East Coast and the two dated long-distance for many years. They would FaceTime and text everyday. In between talking, they would play Scrabble with one another on Words with Friends (Alex is expert level btw). Every few months Katie would fly out to see Alex, and he too would fly back to Minnesota to see Katie and the girls. Like all couples, they had their ups and downs, but supported and loved each other through it all. After Katie graduated nursing school Alex fly out to Minnesota, packed up Katie, the girls and the Subaru and drove to Boston, Massachusetts where they currently live. Then, it finally happened. After years of Katie filling her Pinterest Boards with engagement and wedding images, it happened. On Christmas Eve of 2022 Alex proposed. Both Katie and Alex had tears of joy and laughter. And just as their relationship began - with the girls and laughter, Katie of course said yes. With the girls and laughter. And so, the young maiden and her Prince Charming, and the girls, are now living happily ever after in a magical kingdom by the sea.
