Dia Beacon is on the banks of the Hudson River in a former Nabisco box printing factory. The museum presents art from the 1960s to the present and is known for large contemporary art installations. It's one of our favorite stops and there's an equally great Dia Chelsea art gallery if you stop in NYC on the way out to Beacon.
Katie loves this quirky home goods store. They have amazing gifts, colorful tableware, beautiful linens and fun Japanese snacks.
