Stroll the brick sidewalks and find unique gifts, shopping, art galleries, coffee bars, a wine bar, lots of dining options a brewery and a cidery. Entrenched in history, the town has preserved its historic character, including a home dating back to the French & Indian War. Old Town Warrenton is a must-see for Civil War buffs, where visitors can walk where the “Gray Ghost” John S. Mosby once raided, lived and is now buried with over 100 soldiers from the Civil War and tour the Old Jail Museum.
The northern Virginia countryside is dotted with quaint towns; most of these are within a 30 minute drive. Little Washington is home to Patrick O'Connell's famous inn (which you can tour the gardens) and restaurant. The fall scenery will beautiful all around and any of these would be a great choice to visit. You can also stop by a winery, brewery, cidery or even a distillery - like Cooper Fox in Sperryville.
