Maid of Honor
Aliza is truly the most beautiful person I have had the privilege of knowing and growing up with. Aliza and I met in our third grade class, where I complimented a skirt that I didn't really like and years later told her the truth , where I still haven't lived it down. During our young years, we spent a lot of time having sleepovers where we would have Twilight movie marathons, create dances, play Mariokart and have pillow fights. When we got into high school we ended up working our first job together and made everything a two person job. As our life changed and we went to different schools, Aliza and I would have moments where we wouldn't talk as much or see each other, but during my senior year I had to get a new phone number. She showed up three times to my work and then left a piece of paper on my windshield wiper all so that she could get ahold of me! Ever since then we have been inseparable. She is the funniest person I know, the best listener, and my biggest cheerleader. When Kainoa and I got engaged the minute she saw me she was in tears of joy for me and that just goes to show how big her heart is. I knew I would want her by my side through this journey, and I can't imagine anyone else being my maid of honor!
Best Man
The moment that I knew that Danny and I would be life-long friends was one week at Camp Spalding, we were dressed up for a skit as Olympic athletes, where we ran all around camp together while the kids chased us. That was one of the first core memories that I have of becoming friends with Danny, and from there our friendship grew. As time went on, we realized that our story actually goes quite far back, from racing in high school track meets to being born in the same hospital on the same day! From countless experiences, Danny has been someone who is reliable, kind-hearted, thoughtful, and a great listener. With these qualities, I see the image of God clearly reflected in Danny’s character. As soon-to-be husbands, I look forward to growing old with someone like Danny to hold me close to the fold of God. I look forward to the future, and am proud that I get to walk the journey of life with a man like Danny.

Cameron is my older brother who I have always looked up to and has truly been my hero throughout our entire life. Being brother and sister meant that we argued a lot and bickered about the stupidest things, but no matter what he always had my back and I would always have his! Cameron finally realized I wasn't that annoying when I got into high school and we began working together. Ironically he was my boss at my first job, and everyone always asked if it was hard to listen to him, and truly it wasn't. He told me to not suck and I did my best to make sure I didn't, because like all my life I wanted to be like him and make him proud! He is one of the only people who can piss me off in a matter of seconds, and then convince me I am not really mad at him! When it came to thinking about who would stand by my side on my wedding day, I couldn't imagine not having him with me given he has stood by my side my entire life during the fun times as well as the scary and tough ones. I am so thankful to have him with me on this day and as well as the rest of my life.

There are few people in life who can understand you like siblings can. And Kahea and myself are no exception. In moments where I felt lonely, Kahea was always there to lift my spirits. Of course we have had our moments of annoyance and frustration with each other, but at the end of the day, I know that I have her back and that she will have mine. I know that there is always someone who I can talk to about anything; the good and the bad. Someone who I can laugh with and cry with. I am eternally grateful that I was born with a best friend who will always be there. Kahea is someone who I always look forward to spending time with. She is incredibly thoughtful and generous, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sister. Love you Kahea!

Jessica was one of the greatest gifts that college brought me. We became friends as her boyfriend (now husband) was roommates with Kainoa and we spent our evenings having girl talk in between the screams of the boys playing Fortnite. I remember coming over to Kainoa's college house for the first time, and obviously when you walk into a basement full of people it can be intimidating. Jessica immediately said hi and her sweet demeanor made me feel very welcome! She quickly showed me what it feels like to be seen and heard all while being ready to laugh and joke with in the next moment. Jessica is all the things you can wish for in a friend, she is compassionate, loving, loyal, and fierce. She is my favorite person to call both in times of joy as well as times in struggle, because she never fails to meet me where I need her. I adore her more than she knows. She gave me the immense honor of standing by her side on her wedding day, and I am so lucky to have her next to me on mine. I can't wait to continue to experience life chapters with one another!

Logan and I met during our freshman year of track at Whitworth University. In the midst of wearing masks and social distancing, we still found a way to become friends. I can remember taking steps of leadership with Logan on the track TEAM, even starting goofy traditions during our practice warm ups. I can still remember his advice whenever I had relationship troubles: “Dang. That must be hard. Just, talk to her man.” There are many memories, both happy and sad, that I have shared with Logan. All of those memories are what have made our friendship grow into what it is today. It is their collective which has turned a close friend into someone that I consider my “Brother.” I look forward to the future of our friendship, as I begin a new part of life in marriage.

Analynn and I met in sixth grade when our lockers were put next to each other, and our classes kept creating seating charts with us by one another. I know now that God did that on purpose and I am so thankful for the lifelong friendship that has come from it. We have spent summers playing mermaids in the pool, going for bike rides, and playing monopoly. We spent school years trying to align our schedules, being partners for group projects, and having our senior year getting cut by a pandemic. We spent college summers being young and fun and having so many laughs. Analynn taught me what it means to be loyal and to stand up for those you love. She has truly had my back in tough times of life and in those moments shown me what it means to be a true friend. Meanwhile, she is always cheering me on it times of excitement and joy. She is truly a beautiful soul both inside and out. I was given the honor to stand by her side on her wedding day, and I can't wait to have her stand by mine.

Mac is one of the most excited and encouraging people that I know. When it comes to celebrations, Mac is on the top of the list of people that I want present. He is funny, relational, and a blast to celebrate good times with. Being part islander as well, I have felt a type of brotherhood that is different from all of our other friends. Me and Mac go back to our freshman year of college, where we lived in the same building. I would say that I got much closer when we eventually moved into the same house together. It was there that I got to know Mac much closer, and we got to bond over growing up with Islander parents, and share good cooking together. Mac is truly someone that I can call part of my ‘Ohana, and someone who I love to share the high and low moments with. He is someone who I am glad to call a friend and am beyond excited that he is standing by my side.

MF MIA MCGINNITY! Mia and I met at the Bowling House as her boyfriend (soon to be husband) lived with Kainoa. It was there where the infamous girl talks on the couch and laughing about the joys of roommates began to build our friendship. Mia and I have gotten closer in the past year and a half through lunch and dinner dates, our immense love for the Secret Lives in Mormon Wives, and being able to go through wedding planning season together. One of my favorite memories with Mia is after Logan and Jess's wedding we all went back to the airbnb and had one of our deepest conversations. Unfortunately, neither one of us can fully remember because we may or may not have been very inebriated. Mia is beautiful both inside and out, cares deeply for people and is someone I look up to in the way she handles any adversity that life seems to throw her way. She is good at finding the bright side and always bringing joy to every place she is. I have loved every second of Mia and I becoming friends and I can't wait to go through this season together as well as the many more that will come!

When I think of Luke, the words that come to my mind are loyal, trustworthy, and reliable. In some difficult times of life, I can remember that Luke was present. I can recall passing moments during our freshman year at Whitworth, but our friendship really began at Camp Spalding as fellow counselors and cabin-mates. We shared deep conversations over the Summer and that bond carried over into the following school year and beyond. Eventually, we became roommates, which opened the door to plenty of exciting memories. To this day, Luke is still one of the most honest people that I know. He is the type of friend who will tell me the truth when I need to hear it, which I value and respect from him. I look forward to the future of our friendship and am excited as we both begin the next phase of marriage in our own lives.

KayDee and I have a very unique meeting, that I believe God's hand was a part of all of it. During my junior year of college, I spent the month of January studying abroad in Europe. In the last few days of the trip, KayDee ended up joining our class because she was going to go to Scotland with one of my classmates. We ended up meeting for the first time in Paris, where she thought I was British for the first two hours (because my accent was exceptional). In all reality, it was just because she hadn't heard a real one until two hours in! KayDee and I became quick friends. She and I both love to observe and eavesdrop on other conversations, in which when we hear something we can both look at each other and know exactly what the other is thinking. When we got back from Europe, I started going to church with her and she is truly one of my biggest inspirations on how to be a Godly woman as well as leader and coach. KayDee is loving, fierce, and protective over those she loves and she has been by my side every since that trip. She has helped Kainoa and I through the ups and downs and I can't imagine not having her by my side on a day to celebrate the love we have built and will continue to pour into.

Of the friends that are in my life, Max is one of the best listeners that I know. When I talk to him about the celebrations and hardships of life, Max is someone who is compassionate, caring, and ready to support me in any way that I need. I met Max through working with YoungLife, doing volunteer work being leaders and mentors for middle school kids. Together, we made a great duo going to middle school events together, serving the community, doing Bible studies with other leaders, and bringing joy to middle school kids. Some of the best memories that I have with Max involve service through YoungLife, which shows me the Christ-like nature of his character. Just like Jesus, Max is slow to anger, filled with stead-fast love. He is quick to serve others, thinking of them before himself. I strive to be like Max in these ways, and even though we were the ones leading middle schoolers before, I still feel to this day that Max is oftentimes the one leading me. Thank you Max, and I look forward to the wedding and beyond!

Iana and I met our sophomore year of college, where we lived in the same dorms together. She lived a floor above me and pretty quickly after our friendship started, we developed a nightly ritual. Each night I would run up to her room, usually around 10 pm when we really should be sleeping, sit on her bed, she would hand me her Cheez It container, and we would have a daily debrief. Iana and I have seen each other grow so much from our nightly "tea" sessions to both of us entering our dream careers and cheering each other on from afar. I remember the first time I told Iana about Kainoa and the joy and happiness she had for me is something I will never forget. Iana is beautiful, full of grace and understanding, all while being a dedicated and loyal friend. I know that through every moment she has my back and that if I ever need her, she would drop everything. Being able to see how much Iana gives to those she loves and being someone who is on the recieving end of it, I couldn't imagine not having her by my side on such a special day. Not only as one who I know will celebrate with us, but someone who will continue to be there for Kainoa and I through the journey of marriage.

Something that I have found to be true in life is that some of the strongest friendships are formed in the greatest hardships. Sports have built-in hardships like difficult workouts and losses for example. When two teammates run one of the most difficult races in Track and Field, the relationship formed is indescribable. Adam and I first got to know each other during our last years in running Track at Whitworth. We both were middle distance runners. Which means that our races were physically demanding both in speed and endurance. Through brutal workouts and races, in rain, snow, ice, and extreme heat, Adam has been someone that I can lean on. Even when it comes to the 4x4 relay, Adam is someone who not only carries his own weight, but is a natural leader who helps lift the weight off of the shoulders of others. His positive attitude and cheerful smile can turn a bad day into a good one. One way that I have seen Jesus show up in my life is through Adam’s joy and life-giving attitude. As I begin a new life with Alyssa, I am excited that I will always have someone like Adam to be in my corner. Thanks Adam, for always standing by me.

As the youngest sibling, I have been given the great honor of being an aunt to all the beautiful humans that my older siblings have brought into the world. I have five nephews and my first niece on the way! Preston is the oldest, and was born when I was in the sixth grade, he and I spent a lot of of our Saturdays together where we would "play and have fun together" - his words!. Kolt gave my the nickname "Aryssa" and would love to play airplane and be spun around. Kasen is the best hugger and him and I will have a squeeze contest every time we see each other. Kooper has the sweetest voice, and spent this Christmas telling Kainoa and I all about dinosaurs. Lincoln is the youngest nephew and we spend a lot of mornings on facetime while he eats breakfast and I get ready for school. He loves to dance and this Christmas we spent time sword fighting with wrapping paper rolls. Kainoa has quickly become the fun uncle who will go and play football or play hide and seek for hours! I have also come home from work to hear Kainoa and Preston on the phone playing Fortnite together! We can't wait for these five to be our ring bearers!

Most often, the best friendships are formed over time. Yet, some great friendships begin and burn bright from the start. Hayden is one of the most positive, supportive, and cheerful people that I know. I believe that one of the things that brings me and Hayden close is our sense of humor. We still look back and laugh at shared memories, like our road trip to the Oregon coast where the entire backseat flew in the air for .7 seconds! Not only that, but Hayden’s passion for caring for the needs of others through his work is inspiring to me. Me and Hayden have bonded over the years, from occasional trips to visit Kahea at the College of Idaho, talking about running track/ XC, and now about coaching and teaching. I thank God for the gift of Hayden’s friendship in my life. Hayden shows me how compassion and patience are recipes for healthy living, even when it gets difficult. I am so grateful that I get to call Hayden my future brother-in-law, and look forward to his support and friendship in the future.

Josh is basically a little brother I never had, that God gave me later in life as a best friend. Josh and I met in my sophomore year of college, when we lived in the same dorms. We met the first time playing ping pong, but our friendship really began when I got to know both Cameron and him together. Our friendship was pretty instant, and man oh man did we enjoy the adventures that came with college. Josh and Cam usually came up with pretty bad ideas that might involve getting hurt or getting in trouble, and I would either join in or try to mend the plan enough where the end results wouldn't be so bad. Overall, Josh and I have seen each other grow and change throughout the last five years and I am so thankful to have him by my side through it. Josh is incredibly loyal and is the best listener I have ever known. I have always known that if I needed to confide in someone who would have my back that I could call Josh. Josh however also tends to humble me in a matter of seconds with his jokes and bullying. Josh and Cam are the most hilarious duo, and so Kainoa and I thought what better role on our wedding day than the flower girls who will strut and put on a show down the aisle.

Over the course of my life, the best advice I have ever received was, “make friends.” To me, this means to overlook the differences between myself and others, and instead look for common ground. Cameron is someone who I consider to be different from myself in many ways. Yet, I still find similarities with Cam when it comes to TEAM spirit and acting with kindness toward others. One of the ways that I have come to know Jesus over the course of my life, is that He is present and patient in the moments that I worry about. Cam is a physical reminder of the presence of God in my life, through the relationships of friends and loved ones. Not only is he encouraging in his words and actions, but he is also a reliable TEAMmate, both on and off of the track. It is inspiring to see Cam succeed, and I have seen him grow throughout our time at Whitworth and now beyond. From the very beginning of mine and Alyssa’s relationship, Cam has always been a loving and encouraging presence. Someone who hears and listens when we argue, yet never taking sides. I look forward to the future of our marriage and the role that Cam fills as a cheer-leader in our life.
