Question

Can I bring a guest or my children?

Answer

While we absolutely would love to celebrate with everyone, we are blessed with so many family and friends and will not be able to include everyone we’d hope to at the ceremony and reception. Only guests who are specifically named on the envelope or invitation will be able to attend. We hope you understand!

Question

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

With some love from above, we are hoping that we will have a beautiful, warm day on June 4th, so that our ceremony will be able to take place outside. If the weather does not cooperate, we will have a ceremony still onsite- but inside. The cocktail hour will be a combination of the outdoor ceremony space, and the indoor reception space. (You’ll find the bars inside!). The reception will be indoors, but guests will continue to have access to the outdoor area through the night. Meet us on the dance floor and then take a nice breather on the patio garden!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

We’ll start by saying it’s Illinois- so who knows! BUT, the average temperature for the beginning of June in our area is around 70 degrees. Fingers crossed!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We encourage guests to dress in formal/semiformal attire. Examples include: Suits, jackets, any length dresses, pantsuits, or dressy separates. Truly, we will love you in whatever you wear, so long as you can still bust a move with us on the dancefloor!

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes! Should you choose to drive to the wedding venue, there is ample FREE parking in their large lot right outside the building! No worries here!

Question

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

We'll be serving light passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by a plated dinner and dessert. Please indicate on the RSVP what dietary restrictions you may have, so we can be sure to accommodate. The drinks are on us- just be sure to meet us on the dance floor! 😊

Question

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

Answer

We will include a space on the RSVP to indicate this and are happy to accommodate!

Question

Is there transportation from the airport to the hotel?

Answer

Yes- if flying into Midway Airport, you can contact the Double Tree Hotel and schedule a complementary shuttle. These must be scheduled in advance, so once you have your flight information, give Double Tree a call to coordinate!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the wedding venue?

Answer

Yep! We will have a shuttle that will take two trips from the Hilton Double Tree Hotel to Silver Lakes prior to the start of the ceremony (4pm and 4:40pm). We HIGHLY recommend prioritizing the first shuttle so that you can get to the venue early and enjoy a drink at the bar with Matt prior to the ceremony. If the second shuttle is full, you will need to find your own mode of transportation as the shuttle will not return to the hotel until return trips begin later that evening. The shuttle will also take two trips back to the Double Tree from Silver Lakes near the end of the wedding (estimated trips to depart around 10:30pm and 11:30pm). The return trips will be announced by the DJ at the reception when it is time for busses to board. Make sure to catch a ride back to the hotel to join us for the afterparty!

Question

What time will the event end?

Answer

Does it have to?! While the reception will end at 11:30pm at Silver Lake Country Club, we will keep the party going back at the Allgauer's Restaurant within the Alsip Double Tree Hotel where our room block is located. The hotel will be extending the bar's hours for us so that we have a space to continue celebrating with whoever is wanting to join! Cheers!

Question

What is Make-A-Wish and why is there an additional donation request for them at the wedding?

Answer

Make-A-Wish is a foundation that is very near and dear to Matt and Kailey. Make-A-Wish fulfils wishes for children who have been diagnosed with a critical illness. At age 6, Kailey herself had a wish granted by Make-A-Wish after surviving brain surgery, so they know firsthand how incredible this organization is. Matt and Kailey would love your help in adding an extra special layer to our wedding day, as we collect small donations to help pay-it-forward and grant a current child's wish. If you wish to participate with us, please consider bringing a few extra dollars to the wedding, where we will be taking donations.
