Our Story

It was a brisk Saturday morning in March, and everyone was making their way to Lower Greenville for St. Patrick’s Day. I was at a friend’s house to start the day with my usual group of friends, when this cute girl I’ve never seen before walked into the party. She had just moved to Dallas, and thanks to some very subtle intel gathering from a friend, I found out she was single. After an undisclosed number of beverages, I finally worked up the courage to sit down next to her and start a conversation – we didn’t stop talking for hours. We talked about everything from our love for the same bands, living two blocks away from each other in San Francisco, to our shared misery over Da Bears. We could have talked all night, but Kailei’s friend told her it was time to head out. I asked for her number and, in a move that wasn’t exactly my smoothest, told her I wanted to take her on a date in four weeks—after my engineering exam that had been occupying all my free time. In hindsight, that could’ve easily tanked my chances, but I knew she was worth my full, undistracted attention. A week before the test, I was lucky to hear that she was still single and free the next Saturday. As soon as I walked out of the exam room, I drove home from Houston that night so that I could take her on our first date the very next day. Aside from her crushing me in shuffleboard and accidentally dropping a dart into her toe, it was the perfect first date! Since then, we’ve spent the last three years going on many more perfect dates, traveling, and making unforgettable memories with our friends and families. We bought our first home together and now spend our weekends filling it with friends, usually persuaded to come over with promises of food, pool basketball, and my famous espresso martinis. I proposed to Kailei in Costa Rica in January, and since then we’ve been so excited to throw one hell of a wedding with all the people we love. We can’t wait to start this next chapter of our lives and are so excited to celebrate with all of our favorite people! Brian
