After months of Chase and Kaila's friends trying to convince them to go out together, they went on a few dates. The dates went well and Chase asked Kaila to Senior year homecoming, his first dance. Kaila of course said yes, but under one condition, he had to shave his "amish" beard. A steep price (according to Chase) but Kaila was worth it as he went to the barber and refreshed his look the day of the dance. The night of the dance was going great and then the final song came on and the moment finally came. Chase asked Kaila to be his girlfriend. The rest is history.
Chase set up a small getaway to The Ivy Hotel in Baltimore (with a little help from Kaila's Aunt and Mom). They enjoyed an afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and and all the fixings. Then it was time for dinner at the hotel restaurant, The Magdalena. They wined and dined for hours getting appetizers, entrees, and double the dessert all the while Chase sat nervously with the ring box in his sock. You heard that right, he had the box in his sock for hours. At one point he even had to go to the bathroom to move the box to relieve the pain in his ankle. Finally at around 10pm Kaila and Chase headed back to the room. When Kaila walked in the room there were candles, flowers, and champagne. Being oblivious she just thought this was a nice gesture by the hotel. Kaila was taking a photo of the set up and when she turned around Chase was on one knee. Kaila of course said yes and here we are, ready to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
