We have pictures covered! Our ceremony is something we've been looking forward to for quite some time now and would much prefer to see your face instead of your screen. If you hadn't noticed by our engagement pictures, we have a PHENOMENAL photographer who will be there ALL to capture our big day! We appreciate your enthusiasm to capture the moment, but thank you for kindly turning off all phones until the reception. We'll be sure to share our pictures with you the second we get them back! In order to give our guests the experience we've been dreaming of, no additional plus ones will be permitted. We’d hate to not have a seat prepared. Unless you were specifically assigned a plus one option, we kindly ask that only the names on your invitation attend. Any surprise last minute guests will be kindly asked to leave.
While we wish we could provide accommodation for everyone (you're all our favorite people of course!), Watkins Glen is mostly full of charming bed and breakfasts and individually owned vacation rentals. After much research, Kaila has carefully curated a list of suggested lodging to fit every taste and budget to help you in booking your stay. This is a bit tricky as the venue is located just inside the park's South Entrance by foot. There technically is no address, but once you enter the South Entrance admission gate, it's straight ahead so you can't miss it! The official address of the gate is NY-419, Watkins Glen, NY 14891. Coming from South Franklin Street, turn onto Old Corning Road next to the Sinclair gas station (look for the dinosaur). Follow Old Corning road up the hill and take a right when you come to the arrow sign on the left side of the road labeled Seneca Lodge. Stay on NY-419, following the curve to the right leading you straight to the park entrance. Seneca Lodge will be on your left just before this turn! Attendants at the gate should be able to help direct you if need be! Admission to the park is $5 per car, no matter the number of passengers. Dress code is semi-formal. Tuxedos and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. We highly recommend that ladies wear or bring a pair of flats as the ceremony will take place down hill from the pavilion. Shawls are recommended for added coziness as this is an outdoor venue!
Upstate New York is crisp and fresh! In early October the temperature in Watkins Glen typically ranges from mid 40's to low 60's topping out around 3pm. We recommend packing light layers and a light jacket.
We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
When we booked our wonderful caterer, Serendipity Catering, having options for everyone was top priority! We can ensure vegan / vegetarian friendly options and Gluten free offerings. Please let us know in the reception RSVP section if there are any additional dietary restrictions for us to look out for! Specific dishes will include passed appetizers during cocktail hour, chicken, pork, and eggplant caponata as entree choices, as well as multiple dessert offerings.
