Things To Do

We know that most everyone is traveling in from other places, so this is a list of things within an hour or so of Vernal that are must see sights if you want to make more of a trip out of it; there's more to explore but this is meant to give an idea of what there is available. As this is where Kaia grew up, she particularly wants to share pieces of her childhood for you to explore :)

Fantasy Canyon

This is a beautiful hike with unusual and beautiful rock formations that truly highlight God's creativity in nature

Red Fleet State Park

There's a specific group of rock formations at the reservoir that resemble a fleet of battleships, which combined with the iron rich rocks gives the park it's name

Quarry Visitor Center

The dinosaur quarry boasts one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils ever found, and you can view them both in the indoor viewing area that was built around one of the sections, as well as hike to see more

Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum

496 East Main Street, Vernal, UT 84078

This is a fun place to walk around and learn more about dinosaurs in an air conditioned space, which is great for when the weather's too warm for hiking

Remember the Maine Park

This is one of Kaia's favorite parks from her childhood; it's filled with beautiful trails and has a massive mural of the American flag as a tribute for the ship that started the Spanish-American war

Josie Morris Cabin

Jensen, UT 84035

Josie's cabin is a well preserved cabin from over 100 years ago, and you can walk around the area as well as go into the nearby canyon to see native American rock paintings
