Kaia was born in Riverside, CA on July 22, 2003, and almost exactly six months later on January 24th, 2004, Nate was born in Logansport, IN. Having grown up on opposite sides of the US, their paths shouldn't have crossed each other, but that's not what God had in mind, In 2022, Kaia joined a Facebook group geared towards helping Christians from all over the world meet and possibly pair up and get married. She joined with not much hope for forming anything beyond friendships, and for two years simply engaged with the group, with only a few one on one interactions that never led anywhere. Despite many times where she almost left due to feeling like it was a waste of time, God continuously prompted her to stick around and wait. Two years after she joined, Nate returned home to Peru, IN from his third school with Youth With A Mission. Due to not knowing how long he'd be at home and led by the Spirit, he joined the same group as Kaia unknowingly on July 5th, 2024, and per the group's rules made an introduction post that ultimately passed through Kaia's feed while scrolling the next day. Initially, she skimmed it and didn't interact further, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she should go back and comment on it, so after a few minutes she did. Nate ended up engaging her in a brief conversation in the comments, and after that ceased she forgot about the interaction, but he didn't. Through courage given by God, he decided to send her a message request, and on July 7th, after deliberating whether or not she should ignore the request, they had their first conversation. It was awkward and stiff at first, but slowly and surely as time went on, the conversations began to flow freely, filled with daily updates, nerdy discourses, and deep talks about faith and values. Despite prior distrust and skepticism in the world of online dating, God brought them together in a way neither had experienced before, and following several weeks of texting, coupled with a couple of calls and a video chat, He brought them together officially August 17th, 2024, and on August 28th they had their first date and got to see each other face to face. Here, fueled once again by God, Nate bravely opened up to Kaia and confessed his love for her, and she returned with the same brave vulnerability and reciprocated the feelings. Since then, they've only grown closer together, choosing daily to serve each other in love and working together to pursue the Lord and each other. They both knew quite early on that it was going to end in marriage, but chose to wait until they had been together for a bit longer and had met each other's families. After a bit over a year of patiently waiting, on September 20th, 2025, Nate got down on one knee at Navy Pier in Chicago in a final act of Godly courage, and after reiterating his love for her, asked her to marry him, and she said yes.
