The world's largest elevated pedestrian bridge is right over the Hudson from Poughkeepsie to Highland on the other side. Cross the bridge (or just do halfway and back) to get spectacular views of the Hudson River Valley and see if you can spot the Grandview along the water!
Franny Reese is an ideal option if you want to spend time in nature and explore views overlooking the Hudson without an intense or long hike. It has dog-friendly (Marjorie loved sniffing around) and easy trails, but you might want bug spray.
If you're up for an intense hike, try Mount Beacon. If you get all the way to the summit, you can climb the fire tower for the ultimate vantage point. Expect it to take a few hours and bring some water, but if you're ready for a challenge the views will be worth it!
