We will have a charter bus make a trip to the Grandview. It will arrive at 4:15pm at the Homewood Suites so it should be easily accessible for guests at Homewood and Residence Inn (would be a drive from the Hampton Inn, so probably wouldn't make sense). The shuttle will leave at 4:30pm or when full (it seats roughly 50 guests).
The ceremony will take place outside overlooking the Hudson, weather permitting, so please dress accordingly. The reception will be in the "outdoor ballroom" tent, which can be heated or air conditioned as needed
The dress code is formal attire. Think outfits like below-the-knee cocktail dresses or polished suits. https://www.theknot.com/content/wedding-guest-attire-cheat-sheet
For the wedding, please arrive at the Grandview at 4:30pm on Friday October 17th to enjoy a drink from our champagne wall and find your seat before the ceremony begins. The ceremony will start promptly at 5pm. You can also get to Poughkeepsie on October 16th and join us for Welcome Drinks!
The Grandview does offer complimentary valet parking on site. To promote responsible driving, The Grandview allows guests to leave their vehicle in their lot overnight and retrieve it the next day. (If a guest does not retrieve their valeted car keys; they will be at the front desk of The Grandview the next morning.) There are typically plenty of Ubers/Lyfts available to the venue without needing to drive and park. Keep in mind we have an open bar, so you may need to find an alternate way home in order to keep everyone safe!
In order to make sure we can celebrate with our family and close friends in the limited headcount, we can only welcome guests who are explicitly listed on your invitation, either by name or as “Guest.” All guests will be included in the guest list when you RSVP, and we ask you do not bring anyone not on the guest list. We appreciate your understanding!
While we love your little ones, we will be holding an adult-only wedding. We hope that the advance notice means you are still able to attend.
While you are free (and encouraged!) to take pictures throughout the day, we ask that guests refrain from using their phones and/or taking any photos during the ceremony (including when bridal party members are going up or down the aisle). Our photographers will be capturing the moments, and we're happy to share the professional photos afterwards!
We know many guests will be travelling to attend the wedding, and want to spend some extra time with any arriving by the 16th ahead of the wedding day. If available, please join the couple and bridal party at Mill House for a more casual event to say hello, mingle, and celebrate. We'll have two hours of an open bar tab covered for all guests from 8:30 - 10:30pm, and recommend eating beforehand.
We would love to spend some extra time celebrating with friends and family after 10:30pm, so we will have a shuttle bus make trips to bring any guests from the Grandview to Mahoney's who are up for more partying. Mahoney's is an Irish Pub that we can expect to be pretty lively on a Friday night, and our group will have the Claddagh room as our designated space, but can join in the fun for more mingling and dancing. This will be a cash bar event, and you can stay as late as you'd like (Mahoney's closes at 4am) or Irish exit as early as you'd like - we recommend getting an Uber or Lyft whenever you're ready to leave.
Please see the Travel section for our hotel room blocks.
