The day was March 13, 2020. A day in which these two lovers first met, and forever marks the start of the rest of their lives. We all have a story of where we were when the pandemic shut the world down, and that’s where their story starts. At the time, both Kaely and Joshua were attending Columbia College Chicago, pursuing their respective degrees in Fashion Photography (Kaely) and Music (Josh). They received a harrowing voicemail on campus that the school was being shutdown indefinitely and that all campus activity was to be ceased, effectively immediately. This meant the end for a student-directed theater production with a small cast comprising of one of Kaely’s roommates and a mutual friend of Josh’s. Upon hearing this end, Josh was invited to a sad-party to commemorate the ending of the show, and this party was at none-other-than Kaely Faith’s apartment! Lo and behold, 2 hours later, Joshua ends up sitting smitten next to Kaely on the floor of her apartment, and the rest was history. The months following their union were comprised of many global challenges that conjured significant stress and uncertainty, but it was oddly congruent with the conversations and gestures surrounding love, community, and safety that they taught to one another. Even when both the world around them and their respective careers felt like they were withering away, their love was steadfast. Every triumph following those days continues to add to the sanctity of their love. It was not long before the two of them found a cozy apartment in Rogers Park and moved in with their two joyous balls of fur (cats): “Kenny Buttonz” and Vaquita (“Little Cow” in Spanish). Since moving in together, they’ve both made significant strides in their careers, their emotional and spiritual growth, and championed each other in all of the small and large victories in their life. Even in the darkest stretches of challenges such as suffering the loss of Kaely’s Grandfather, Heinz Vette and Josh’s Father, John Trimble, this couple has fostered an unwavering union of love that is the nesting ground for all that they are and all that they will be. Along side their close friends and loving families that amplify life’s greatest moments and cushion life’s hardest moments, they are truly unstoppable. Kaely Faith Burgardt and Joshua Edward Delgado Trimble are coming together on this joyous occasion to sanctify their love through a ritual that gathers all of the beloved people in their lives. This day will mark a celebration of their love, a commemoration of the one’s they’ve lost, a promise for tomorrow, and a party that we will all cherish until our memories are no longer.
