Meet our OfficiantMeet our Officiant

Bishop Danny Figueroa

We are deeply honored to have our ceremony officiated by Bishop Danny. To Ely and me, he is more than a bishop — he is a spiritual father, mentor, and guiding voice whose wisdom and faith have poured into our lives in countless ways. His heart for God and dedication to His Word have strengthened us individually and as a couple. He is highly respected and deeply trustworthy, and we truly couldn’t imagine anyone else with such an anointing standing with us on this sacred day. Having him unite us in covenant before the Lord is a true blessing and a meaningful part of our love story.

A spark that lit a flameA spark that lit a flame

Ely and Kadi first met back in high school on the same ROTC competition team. They crossed paths only once, and after that, life carried them in different directions — Ely to football, and Kadi continuing with ROTC. By senior year, without realizing it, their paths overlapped again through a dual-enrollment program at the same college. After graduating in 2020, they remained nothing more than social media acquaintances — until God’s perfect timing began to unfold. Ely had found his faith years earlier, giving his life to Christ and finding a home at Proof Church. Kadi, raised in church but distant for years, was in a season of searching — longing to grow closer to God again. Around that same time, both Ely and Kadi were praying for the right person — someone genuine, kind, selfless, and after God’s heart. Neither knew that those prayers were already being answered. One ordinary day, Kadi came across a Christian post on Ely’s story. She replied to it, not realizing that single message would change everything. Their small conversation sparked something bigger — a connection that felt natural, easy, and meant to be. A few days later, Ely invited her to dinner at Miller’s Ale House. Over dinner, they talked about life, faith, and everything in between. When Ely asked if she went to church, Kadi said she didn’t — but his invitation to Proof Church stayed in her heart. After turning it down a few times, she finally reached out herself to ask for the church’s info — and that moment told Ely she was someone special. Not long after, Kadi gave her life to Christ and was baptized. Ely knew then that she was the woman God had prepared for him. Two years later, he proposed — confident, faithful, and certain of the love God had written for them. Now, together, they walk into forever — hearts aligned, faith rooted, and love guided by grace. This is Ely and Kadeisha’s story — proof that when God writes your love story, it’s always worth the wait.
