The couple would prefer that all guests adhere to a formal dresscode; - men: anything from a suit to a tuxedo - women: anything from a formal cocktail dress or a pant/skirt suit to a long formal gown As a private club, the Manitoba Club will enforce the following dresscode: Denim, athletic wear, athletic shoes, and hats are strictly prohibited in the club. Business, formal or smart casual dress shall prevail for the gentlemen and contemporary attire is suitable for the ladies. Any deviation from accepted forms of dress may result in denial of admittance to the club. Note: Please dress for the weather. The ceremony will be outside unless there is extreme rain or wind (or snow), in which case the ceremony will be inside an unheated historic building. Although the ceremony will take place on the lawn of the Big House, most of the walking will take place on paths therefore ladies should not have to worry too much about sinking into the ground in heels.
Alia and Kenton have chosen a gorgeous, intimate reception venue that can only accomodate 60 guests. Therefore, there is no availability for additional guests at the reception. That being said, children of invited guests or other friends of the bride and/or groom are welcome to join us at the wedding ceremony at Lower Fort Garry. Please contact Alia prior to bringing additional guests to the ceremony, and provide the number of guests attending on the RSVP so that we can ensure that enough seating is provided for all guests attending.
At Lower Fort Garry, please park in the general parking lot. A shuttle will be available between 12:50pm - 1:20pm to shuttle guests from the parking lot to the ceremony spot in front of The Big House, and then after 2pm to shuttle guests back to their vehicles after the ceremony. At the Manitoba Club, free parking is available directly across Broadway in the Wawanesa parking lot. An elevator is available for guests requiring mobility accomodations. For any guests staying overnight at The Fort Garry Hotel, one complimentary parking spot is included in your hotel stay.
Washrooms will be available for guests in the south-west bastion, located near the ceremony location.
