The grandest of Seoul’s royal palaces, dating back to the 14th century. Don’t miss the Changing of the Guard Ceremony! For those who would like to join, John and I will be hosting an excursion here on 5/28 :)
Wander through charming alleyways lined with traditional hanok houses between Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces. Many homes double as tea houses, craft shops, or art studios. Tip: Visit in the morning for quieter streets and soft light for photos. Please be respectful to the residents of this neighborhood.
Ride the cable car or hike up Namsan Park for one of Seoul’s best panoramic views. Romantic, especially at sunset — bring a lock to leave your mark and promise your partner eternal love <3
Experience Korea’s food culture like a local. Gwangjang Market (광장시장) – Famous for bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes), yukhwe (Korean beef tartare), and mayak gimbap (mini seaweed rolls). Namdaemun Market (남대문시장) – One of Korea’s oldest and largest markets, offering clothes, souvenirs, and local snacks. The hotteok (veggie & sugar filled ones), mandu (dumplings), and kalguksu (knife cut noodles) are a must try! Tongin Market (통인시장) – Known for its unique “lunchbox” system — exchange coins for small dishes from various vendors. Mangwon Market (망원시장) – One of the more "modernized" traditional markets that's very popular with the locals! Try the dak-gang-jeong (fried chicken), goroke (croquettes), and classic bunsik items like tteokbokki and kimbap. Even better: take them to-go to Mangwon Hangang Park for a picnic by the Han river!
Seoul’s famous shopping district packed with K-beauty stores, street food, and global brands. Must try the kalguksu (knife cut noodles) at Myeongdong Kyoja (lines look intimidating but they don't take long to seat you)!
This is for you, my party people! Known for its youthful energy, live music, and street art, Hongdae is the hub for the youth. Great for shopping, food, busking, and nightlife.
Yes, that Gangnam from Psy's 2012 big hit "Gangnam Style". Home to designer stores, upscale restaurants, and Korea’s biggest underground mall (COEX), Gangnam offers the best of the newer parts of Seoul. Visit Bongeunsa Temple for a serene break from the bustle.
Often called the “Brooklyn of Seoul,” Seongsu is one of the city’s most up-and-coming areas — a creative hub filled with repurposed warehouses, designer cafés, pop-up shops, and local fashion labels.
A hidden gem that blends traditional hanok architecture with modern cafés, cocktail bars, and boutiques. Visit in the evening for fairy lights and intimate dinner spots!

Wanna see some panoramic views of the city? This moderate, 1.5~2 hour hike will take you to the top of Inwangsan, offering 360-degree views of Seoul, Namsan Tower, Blue House, and surrounding areas. You'll also have the chance to hike along segments of the beautifully restored Joseon Dynasty fortress wall.
Take a trip to the demilitarized zone, a weapons-free buffer zone to learn more about the Japanese invasion and the Korean War. It can only be accessed via tour groups, and tours fill up fast. Some tours will require advance passport verification, so best to make reservations in advance. It will take most of the day, with a very early start.
