We sent out a notice of cancellation several months ago, but have since heard that some of the postcards were not delivered. Apologize for any lapse in communication! We are excited to celebrate at a time when we can be confident that large gatherings are safe. More details to come!
We met during the Pacific Northwest Snowstorm of January 2012, one of those rare weather events that tend to strike Seattle every few odd years. Sarah and her college roommate at the time (Kathleen, bridesmaid) were invited to a game night with Riley's groomsman Cory. As the night continued, it began to snow -- a lot. We all got the e-mail that school was cancelled the next day! We had the whole evening to get to know each other.
Sarah had gotten home from a long day of work on a Wednesday and the first thing Riley said when she walked through the door was "we're going out tonight, go get ready." We drove down to the Triple Door for dinner and a show. We had never heard of the bands, but they ended up being great! After the show ended around 11PM, Sarah assumed it was time to go home, but Riley was set on going somewhere else. He was oddly protective of his jacket at that point which was when Sarah started to know something was up. We walked to the piers downtown and he proposed! We had some champagne on the ferris wheel to celebrate and talk about our life together. We actually went back to the Triple Door on August 8, 2019 and re-created the date!
