Best Man
Jerin was one of the first people I met when I moved to Houston. A friendship that began when we were kids seeing each other almost every day at worship practice, Chili's dates and gym hangouts has grown into a brotherhood that has transcended distance. I’ve seen him mature from that kid with the “big lips” to an adult, to a husband and now a father. From being the guy that always “forgets his wallet” to the guy that takes care of me and imparts Biblical advice to me. No matter how many new steps we take in life, I know that our friendship will continue for a lifetime.
Maid of Honor
Sister of the bride and her biggest fan. Johanna has been looking forward to this day more than I have, years before Kevin even entered the picture. But mainly, she's just been wanting to claim her role as 'Maid of Honor.' In all seriousness though, my little sister has been the biggest supporter in my life and I don't know what I would do without her. In moments of weakness, Johanna's the one I know I can be most vulnerable with, and her unconditional love is truly a gift.

Our relationship is a testament to God’s sovereignty. We barely knew each other when we left Elkins High School, but then were mysteriously united again for medical school. When people think of Alfred, they think of a man deeply in love with his Savior and a real friend. A friend constantly thinking of others, who will lovingly spend hours with you in difficult times and cares enough to correct you when you falter. I’m still amazed at how hours fly by when we talk and how much you’ve helped and continue to help me grow.

Family by blood, friends by choice. We grew up together, but the pivotal point of this friendship was enduring OSSM together. OSSM was one of the hardest things I've ever gone through, and I wouldn't have made it without my best friend living with me. We may have fought over the temperature of the room and who needed to get up to do something, but the pacts we created and nighttime routines of whispering and looking at Devon tower are memories that I will always look back on fondly. Now Jency is living her best life in Colorado, but still makes time to check-in and let me vent whenever I need to.

Justin and I met in medical school and lived together for 2 years. First, let me state how envious I am of this man’s energy level and athletic ability. Our entire friend group is often amazed at how long this man can bike, how much he can squat and how many times he has beaten me in basketball. Even though he has gone through hardships that would break most people, I always picture Justin with a smile on his face, because his hope is secure in God. I was so happy to watch the growth of his relationship to the woman that became his wife and blessed by the example he set forth on his path towards marriage. I was honored to be a part of his wedding and now overjoyed that he will be a part of mine.

Aunty #2 in the group, we've gone from the same kindergarten class to middle school to high school to college to medical school. But that's not what makes Deborah one of my closest friends. During all these seasons, Deb and I have always made time to check in with each other, whether that's through trying out new food places or going on walks, I know I can always reach out for advice or just to take a break from the craziness of life. Even though we'll be living in different places now, I know she'll still be that person for me.

Prashooon, aka “Person” as he is known at many coffee shops, is the complete package ladies. He’ll serenade you on the piano with “A Thousand Miles”, take you to watch a psych thriller and fly you out to Thailand to eat some fried tarantula all in one night. Prasun was a complete stranger to me when we first moved in together in medical school, but we bonded quickly over movies, cookies, Korean barbecue, and so much more. I admire how calmly he faces adversity and how hard he works for the things he wants, but also how none of that changes what he’s about: spending quality time relaxing and with the ones he loves.

From middle school best friends to college roommates and beyond, Celine is one of my sweetest friends. I am so thankful for our journey and our friendship. When I moved high schools, I wasn't sure what would happen to our friendship, but Celine sent me emails every day. Now, even though we haven't seen each other daily since college, our Snap Streak (1000+ days) lives on, and we've kept up with each other's lives. Celine's worked so hard and she's going to be best ultrasonographer in town. I couldn't be more proud!
Groomsman
Elvino, the elder statesman of our cousins. He was there when the pyramids were built. He’s old basically. All jokes aside, when our extended family all lived in California, Elvino took care of all of us kiddos. We always joked that all the adults saw Elvin as this very mature and eloquent human being, but the kids knew his true self. We knew him as the humorous, but weird uncle that we hide people from. Any moment that we come together, he lights up the room with his presence, but he’s equally able to sit alone with you and listen and also share his passions.

Rachel was my first best friend. We were inseparable at church, and afterward, we would spend Sunday afternoons at each other's homes. We'd have 3 or 4 phone calls a day and make up little games to play. Now, Rachel is the most talented singer I know, and she's got the brains too. I'm so proud of everything she's accomplished, and I'm so glad she'll be standing by my side on this big day!

Derek is also known as the 2nd favorite child in his household. When I first met him, he was a very loud, high-pitched kid, but he’s grown so much since then. Whatever Derek is interested in or involved in, he does it with his whole heart, mind and strength. But under all that determination and seriousness, he’s one of the most kind and nurturing guys I know. I’ve always had to be fearful of his physical abuse, excited for the prospect of having sleepovers with him and blessed by the “creative” poems he sends me. I can’t wait to see what God has planned for you next and I don’t care what anyone else says, we were the best cooking team on Thanksgiving.

Sister of the groom (and possibly best man #2?). Where do I even begin? From the first time I talked to Kevin, he mentioned that his sister and I seemed a little too similar. We've found our differences (mainly in how we view chocolate), but we absolutely love having fun together, and when the three of us are together, Kevin is very clearly the third wheel. I'm SO glad to be gaining another sister, and I can't wait for all that will come in our new friendship. From our time so far, I know the future is bright, full of laughter and love.

Brother of the bride, father of two adorable dogs, Michelin star chef, financial expert, the list goes on and on. I met Jonathan with the rest of his family about 1 year ago and initially he was very quiet. However, over the months, he has been so helpful to me in planning birthday surprises and proposals and overall has so kindly welcomed me into his family. I’ve heard and witnessed how dedicated he is to his church, his family and his education and admire him for how far he has come. I can’t wait for all the memories I will have with my new brother. Also, I’m going to need a push up and pull up rematch real soon bro!
