Hutchins BBQ is one of the top BBQ joints in Texas. Hutchins is one of the first places we went to after moving here and they did not disappoint!
Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary
This is an inexpensive and very large wildlife sanctuary. They have old nature and animal artifacts in the museum. Once outside, there are endless outdoor trails with sanctuary animals and all kinds of wildlife. We took so many pictures here the first time we visited because there was so much to see and it was so pretty!
Historic Downtown McKinney
Historic Downtown McKinney is a nice place to walk around with quaint shops, ice cream, restaurants, and entertainment. This is one of the first places we heard of when moving to the Dallas area.
Harry Myers Park
If you're up for a little drive, this park is fantastic. This park is closer to our home and we come here quite frequently with the dogs. It is a historical marker location, there is a public pool, playground, dog park, long walking path with a lake, lots of green to picnic on, and it is big on disc golf. It's massive and people are extremely friendly here.
The Harbor Rockwall
The Harbor has restaurants, a movie theater, and the marina. This is one of the first places we visited when looking to move here and this is when we realized how pretty Rockwall was!
