Kansas City Power & Light District
Collection of bars in downtown KC, just 5 min from the reception venue. Great place to hang out between the ceremony and reception and if you survive the reception its a great place to finish off the night.
Country Club Plaza
Shopping/Restaurant area of Kansas city that is great to walk around and see a nice area of KC, especially if the weather is nice. Also, during this time Crowne Center is a show of Christmas lights!
Old Westport
Old school downtown bar district with multiple options to choose from, with great outdoor patios to choose from and some of our favorite brunch spots for a hungover Sunday morning.
Boulevard Brewing Company
HIGHLY recommend for in between wedding and ceremony. Its a short, 45 minute tour including samples of their famous brews with an awesome history of the company. Be quick if you decide on this route. Tours sell quickly.
Up-Down KC
Closest bar to the reception venue. Old arcade games, ski ball and an outdoor patio that is a great place to grab a drink right by our wedding reception.
National WWI Museum and Memorial
History buffs can enjoy the famous National WWI Museum and Memorial dedicated to remembering, interpreting and understanding the Great War. For those who don't care to take the tour, hang around to go into the WWI Monument, housing one of the best views of downtown KC.
Downtown Overland Park Partnership
Great area close to the wedding venue. Older part of town full of shops, bars and some of our favorite restaurants. The Peanut and Maloney's are two of the bride and grooms favorite places to be in KC
Union Station Kansas City
Grand, historic train station with permanent & temporary exhibits, a planetarium & a science center.
Sully's Pub
One of our favorite dive bars. Shuffle board table, beers served in mason jars and location between the ceremony and reception venues that would be a great pit stop before the reception.
Crown Center
Great place to visit near Christmas time. Ice skating rink, a mall and Christmas lights highlight this entertainment district
Our Favorite Restaurants
BBQ famous to KC- Q39, Gates BBQ and Jack Stack. Brunch- Beer Kitchen, First watch, Brickhouse, The Shack Mexican- El Patron, Ponaks, Margaritas Bar Food- KCPNL district holds 15+ great choices. Johnny's is a top for us. Steakhouse (Friday night)- Cafe Trio, Antons, The Capital Grille
