So as we all know COVID has done a number on all of us over the last year. Lucky for us, we still became Mr. and Mrs. Wurtz on 12/5/020. And although It was truly the most perfect, intimate ceremony and day we could have ever dreamed of, its time to celebrate with all of you! Please join us for our SECOND attempt to become man and wife!
With only two weeks to put together a new wedding ceremony/plan entirely, we turned a terrible situation into one of the greatest days of our lives. At 4 p.m. on 12/5/2020 on top of the Crossroads Hotel (otherwise known as Percheron) we became Mr. and Mrs. Wurtz. It was an intimate, quiet setting. We created a wedding playlist to play for our family, and myself, to walk down the aisle to. Our parents, siblings and their significant others were present for the wedding. We had one of our closest friends, Tobe Schmidt, officiate our wedding and our photographer, Whittney Kinnison, took some of the most amazing photos! To follow we treated everyone to a cocktail hour at the XR Crossroads Hotel bar, followed by private dinning at Cafe Trio and cocktails to finish at Sullys.
We went back to our old stomping grounds where it all started at the Lake of the Ozarks. The Maid of Honor, Jessica Moore helped to set up the proposal on a hill overlooking the lake at Shawnee Bluff Winery. I took her for a short walk to the top of the hill to take a normal picture when I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. To my surprise she said yes and then to her surprise our parents, siblings, and friends were all waiting nearby to celebrate.
We met in college at the University of Central Missouri where we worked together during the week and partied together during the weekend. Back then we didn't realize just how much time we had been spending together but we quickly became great friends. During the summer of 2015 we each decided to work at the Lake of the Ozark where we had the summer of our lives and couldn't help but take our relationship to a whole new level. We made things official during a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game, and needless to say, we never looked back.
