How We Met

2-13-2020

Lindley posted a silly Instagram story about deadlifting one evening in January. Her friend from high school, Christina Callis, saw it- and immediately thought, "Wow. Her energy matches my other friend, Justin". She reached out to both of them and encouraged Justin to make the first move. Justin slid into Lindley's DMs and charmed her with his polite nature and witty retorts. Justin liked Lindley's easy-going personality and asked her on a date! After almost two weeks of exchanging banter, Justin took Lindley out on their first date to Delucca's, an all-you-can-eat pizza restaurant that is basically a fancy CiCi's. They had a wonderful dinner, and they ended up talking in the parking garage of Lindley's apartment for two hours. Needless to say, Christina hit this one out of the park.

Proposal

2-4-2022

Justin knew he was going to propose to Lindley on their second date. But...that's crazy, so he decided to wait. He wanted to make it a special event, and he knew the mountains of Colorado would be a beautiful backdrop. Unfortunately, Texas weather can never cooperate. The winter storm known as Dallaska blew through, rendering all flights canceled. It seemed all hope was lost, and Lindley was excited to stay home. Multiple times she reminded Justin that she had a freezer stocked full of chicken nuggets and that they could still have a nice weekend. Unbeknownst to her, Justin was determined to pull off this engagement. He and his friends decided to rent a car and drive to Colorado. (This made Lindley very displeased). After a grueling car trip where 7 people were stuffed in a Tahoe like sardines and a 5-hour hotel stay for sleep, they finally made it to Breckenridge. Lindley was dying for a shower, (and a nap) but after she had gotten dressed, the group wanted to take a group picture on the balcony. Lindley quickly dried her hair halfway so it wouldn't freeze but did not put in contacts as she was planning on a luxurious nap. Alas! It was a ruse! As pictures were starting to be taken, Justin said, " Nothing on this trip has gone to plan, but doing things per plan isn't really our style anyway. I love you and I love doing failed plans with you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Lindley was shocked! (She obviously said yes).

For all the days along the way
