Folly Beach is a great beach with a multitude of shops and restaurants right off the beach. This beach is more lively and caters to those who want activity during their visit. There is only one hotel on the island, but AirBnB.com and VRBO.com are the most popular rental websites.
Charleston
Historic Downtown Charleston, the start of our story together and the reason for our celebration. Welcome to our home and love. We always like to tell people the carriage tours are a little gimmicky and some facts are fast and loose, but it is a wonderful quick way to see the historic peninsula and to learn about its history! Walk around the Battery (pinapple foundation) or White Point Gardens, at the end of the peninsula, to see the water and historic houses. Visit two of our favorite historic houses for a tour at Nathaniel Russell House (Laura did her master's thesis utilizing this historic home!) or Aiken Rhett (no, not after Rhett Butler from Gone With The Wind). Shopping and restaurants GALORE! Seriously. Throw a rock and eat where it lands.You won't regret it. Our favorite restaurants and snack stops include: Chubby Fish, R Restaurant, 167 Raw, Darling Oyster Bar, DABS, MIllers All Day, Park Cafe, 1 Broad, Goat Sheep Cow North. Just ask, we can give suggestions!
