Our Story

To the LOVE & Laughter

It all started in the fall of 2013. Justin & Laura Lee both moved to Charleston, SC to begin their graduate school studies at the Clemson University Master’s in Historic Preservation. They met during their 1st week at orientation & despite Justin’s profuse & inhuman amount of sweating in the Charleston heat, their friendship began. Laura Lee was immediately attracted to how handsome Justin was despite being from the Midwest. Justin was lost in the glacial azure of Laura Lee’s eyes & was made to blush every time she pronounced the word “Suffolk.” By the end of their first year their friendship had grown. After months of trading music while completing architectural renderings and a few not so subtle “photography lessons” around Charleston, Justin & Laura Lee drove down to explore Beaufort for their first date (Justin’s sweating somehow intensified). The rest as they say, is history. After 5 years of traveling all over the country visiting friends, taking a trip through England & Scotland, starting new jobs, buying a house, traveling to Aruba with nearly the entirety of Justin’s family (God bless you Laura), getting George a puppy brother Gryffin, Justin painting in the dining room, & so much more, Justin and Laura Lee were engaged. Justin had gotten the engagement ring made after one of his great-grandfathers designs that had been passed down through the family. On a hot July afternoon while painting their bedroom, Justin got down on one knee & asked Laura Lee to marry him. To no one’s surprise it took him about an hour longer than expected because Laura Lee kept supervising his work & wouldn’t turn around & give him a chance to kneel. But creativity prevailed when Justin feigned back pain & asked Laura Lee to finish the last corner of the room, & thus sealed the deal. We couldn’t be more excited to finally join our families& friends in celebration. We love all of you & thank you all for the love, laughter, & support you bring to us each and every day.
