Surprise! We actually met on Tinder 5 years ago! Even though my "stranger danger" instincts were in full force, something about his calm demeanor and the respect he showed me made me feel like all was right. The saying opposites attract is so true - he is calm, quiet, and thoughtful. Justin first met my closest friends, and I knew he was a contender when he could handle our friend group's shenanigans. (IYKYK) I quickly got to meet his family Easter of 2017. I remember feeling so welcome and even got to meet his step dad, Mr. Joe, who was stationed over seas on a video call. Mrs. Rose was so kind from the very beginning and I could tell where Justin got his thoughtfulness from. Since the day I met them, Mrs. Rose and Mr. Joe have treated me like one of their own, and have opened the doors to their home for me. I am so excited to be their daughter-in-law! I was terrified for Justin to meet my family (we are a lot), but knew we had to rip the band aid off at some point or another. He met LITERALLY all of them at once - at my UGA graduation. He quickly became part of the family and even gained my nephew's approval (Madilyn and Allison hadn't been born yet). Since then, conversations with my family always begin with "Hey Jaky! Where's Justin?" Justin has been the best road trip partner, calm to my shenanigans, "ag teacher's boyfriend," hype man, and my voice of reason. Wedding planning has seen the best and worst of me, but I couldn't imagine going through this journey with anybody else. Though I am super excited for our wedding day, I am most excited for our marriage and what it will hold.
