Megan and Justin met in undergrad at OWU and were both part of the track and field team - Justin a thrower and Megan a sprinter/jumper. Megan's roommate was also a thrower, so Megan was always over with that part of the team cheering them on and getting to know them. Naturally, Justin and Megan began talking and discovered that not only were they in same major, but also both aspired to be physical therapists and had family homes within 10 minutes of each other. Can you say fate? They officially started dating on 5.20.2018 and five years of a long-distance relationship followed as they both pursued and completed their undergraduate degrees and DPTs - Justin was in Athens and Megan bounced between Columbus and Cleveland. While the distance was challenging, there were plenty of Facetime calls, snapchats, planned and impromptu visits across Ohio, and visits home which helped fill in the gaps. In the summer of 2023, conversations around marriage came to fruition when Justin bought the ring and began planning the most well-thought out proposal. Megan had always thought of herself as perceptive and was confident that she would figure out when it was going to happen despite Justin's best efforts; however, this couldn't be further from the truth. Justin was able to get Megan's first ever manicure, plan a fake date to get her out of the house, drive out to the engagement site not once, but three times, to pick the perfect spot, and skillfully recruit Megan's friends and family to help out without Megan ever suspecting a thing. On 10.20.2023, Justin took Megan to a beautiful park to walk around before their *fake* wine-tasting date and began reminiscing about their date there 5 years prior. The fall foliage was in full effect and the park was quiet as they walked along the trail until they reached a stone bridge where they stopped to look at the river below. Before Megan knew what was happening, Justin got down on one knee and asked her to marry him...and of course she said yes. They are so excited to celebrate the start of this next chapter of their lives with family and friends on 5.31.2025!
