Eager to make new friends at engineering orientation, Justin intentionally found a seat next to the cutest girl, who turned out to be Cori. Long story short, things worked out ;-)

After seeing each other a couple times at graduate student events, Cori mustered the courage to ask Justin out for coffee. Knowing Justin lived in center city, Cori got on a trolley from her place in University City to meet him at Elixr coffee shop downtown. Meanwhile, Justin was waiting in University City so they could head over together (being the chivalrous man he is). Oops! Despite the mix-up, they had a wonderful first date :-)

After dating for six years, we decided it was time to take an adventurous vacation with just the two of us. Upon a recommendation by our friend Tanvi, we chose to visit Indonesia. While there, we went SCUBA diving, rode horses on the beach, took an incredible cooking class, hiked a volcano, took surfing lessons, toured beautiful temples, and enjoyed the local food. The highlight of our trip was the day we visited the Banyu Wana Amertha waterfalls (see the picture below). We rented a scooter and rode along a ridge, reveling in the beauty of the Balinese volcanic mountains. After a brief hike, we found ourselves in the most beautiful valley surrounded by waterfalls. Justin had been carrying a ring on many of our adventures and, upon arrival at these waterfalls, he knew this was the perfect spot. While enjoying the waterfall, Justin knelt and asked Cori if she'd be willing to put up with him for the rest of their lives. Of course she said yes!
