Justin and Anna met in June of 2013, the year when the 17-year cicadas emerged from the earth. At the time, Justin was attending a Master Naturalist training course that Anna had organized. Within minutes of their acquaintance, and much to Justin's surprise, Anna had taken his hat. Over the weekend-long course, the two nerded out over salamanders and trees. They camped out in a field under the stars. That autumn, they joined a small village choir, cooked weekly dinners, and went hunting for wild mushrooms. For their first Christmas choir concert in 2013, Anna and Justin sang a duet from one of Haydn's masses. Relatives and friends present for the event, having experienced the ethereal beauty of the couple's harmoniously-combined voices, began to suspect that the couple harbored amorous feelings for one another. However, the young couple went on with their lives as friends, blissfully unaware of a future together. Over the next year of their friendship, Anna and Justin discovered their mutual penchant for sharing everything at meals, down to cutting pickles perfectly in half. They also recognized their considerable skill in bickering. Astonished friends and acquaintances, frequently present at their sparring matches, could not believe that the two had only a relatively-recently-born platonic relationship. But soon enough, Justin came to his senses and professed his love for Anna. With great patience, he would spend four months convincing her that she too loved him. Ultimately, Anna conceded. The new couple planted a large garden full of flowers and vegetables (an endless endeavor), and explored nature all over the East Coast. After nearly four years of adventures together, Anna and Justin realized that they loved to argue so much that they might as well do it for the rest of their lives. The couple now owns and lives in a little house in a forest glade along a clear, rushing creek. And they will soon be married. You are invited to this momentous occasion.
