When We Met

Memorial Day 2012

Samantha was working at Gurney's Inn in Montauk when Justin walked in, in plain clothes, shook her hand, introduced himself and walked away. Never once revealing that Gurney's was a summer job Justin had worked many summers before that one. Samantha thought it was odd until the next day he came in in work clothes and realized everyone there knew him. He could've added that he worked there when he introduced herself because Sam thought he was just another friendly guest.

Our First Kiss

Don't Stop Believing!

Some back story- At work that afternoon, Sam had the honor to wait on Steve Perry's table. He told her that she had the most beautiful smile in the whole resort. Being a huge Journey fan, that made her day. Later that night, a group of us all went to Liar's Saloon, a dive bar in Montauk. Justin took Sam on a walk down the docks and she was sure that would be the first kiss, but sadly she was wrong. It wasn't until later that night, at the Memory Motel Bar, they were dancing and Don't Stop Believing came on. The happy couple had their first kiss to a Journey song the day they met Steve Perry.

Our First Date

July 14, 2012

A few weeks go by, they fought over the definition of the word "rude" and Justin wore latex gloves as socks and that's when Sam knew he was meant for her! They started a summer fling with a first "date" at Dave's house, resulting in one of Sam's most embarrassing moments, and an official first date at Harbor Bistro where they bonded over both being foodies. They vowed the summer fling would end because Justin was going back to college in Massachusetts and long distance just wasn't their thing.

The rest of time!

Fitchburg to Farmingdale

But sure enough, ending the summer fling just wasn't meant to be. Sam went up to Fitchburg at least once a month through Justin's last semester, and after he graduated and his car broke down, Sam offered for him to move in with her and her family "just for a few months" while he gets on his feet. Three years in Mom's basement, two years in our Farmingdale apartment, the adoption of our Moosey-Moo, and yet another move to Bayview, 7 total years later we are here planning the wedding of Sam & Justin!

He Asked, I said Yes!

January 18, 2019

We had a classic Sam & Justin Friday night doing our favorite things, ordered some Wings Over chicken wings, drank wine, and played video games while listening to some of our favorite music. I stepped out to take a shower and when I opened the door I heard our song playing, which isn't a popular song for us to play often. When I got back to our bedroom Justin was down on one knee. Not even sure if I said yes before I leapt on him with excitement. It was a perfect night!

The Postponement

9.20.20 ➡️ 9.26.21

As we approached our wedding date of 9.20.2020 we were so excited to finally tie the knot after 18 months engaged! But as many others did, we chose to postpone our wedding due to concerns involving covid-19. We knew how we wanted our wedding to look, and that we wanted ALL of our friends and family in attendance without fear of illness. Now, we will just have to wait a little longer... 9.26.2021 here we come!!
