FAQs

The Wedding Website of Jess Romero and Kole Goldsberry
Question

Do I have to attend?

Answer

No. Please do not feel obligated to attend our elopement in Iceland. We simply wanted to notify our loved ones and closest friends of our next life event.

Question

If I attend, will I have to pay my way?

Answer

Yes. Being that we are planning this life event as an elopement we plan to keep expenses low. If you would like to attend we will be more than happy to relay travel details.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

No. If you would like to witness our union please consider renting a car or scheduling a taxi.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

The average temperature in Iceland in September is 47.3°F (8.5°C), with an average high of 50°F (11°C), and the average low is 42°F (6°C), making snowfall unlikely. If you're wondering how cold Iceland is in September, the temperature rarely goes above 59°F (15°C). But this is Iceland, so you should always expect the unexpected. Be prepared for anything. The weather in September can range from comfortable sweater weather to freezing winds.

Question

What should I pack/wear?

Answer

Something to keep you warm and a decent pair of hiking shoes. We may have to hike a bit to get to the perfect location for our union. Cocktail attire is requested for the after party. The temperature in Iceland in the month of September is still considered mild, but you should prepare for both warmer and colder weather. The essential packing list for what to wear when visiting Iceland in September: - T-shirts and maybe a pair of shorts - Warm layers such as fleece and thermal underwear - Waterproof and windproof jacket - Sturdy hiking boots with heel support - Warm gloves and headwear - Wool socks (for glacier hikes) - Sunglasses (also for glacier hikes) You can always rent extra gear in Iceland, and there are plenty of quality outdoor clothing shops on the main shopping street Laugavegur. If you're wondering why you need sunglasses for glacier hikes, it is because the sun reflects its light off the white and shiny surface of the snowy glaciers, making it many times brighter than usual. Most likely, you will not need sunglasses while walking in Reykjavik, but you never know!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We suggest looking into local hotels and/or an airbnb.

Question

Will there be a state side reception when you return?

Answer

At this point in time, we are not making plans to do so. We are teeter-tottering the idea of a couples shower… Being that we are from Colorado and Texas but reside in Oklahoma we are not sure what this might look like. If we have a change of heart/plans to relay we will let everyone know.
