Ceremony Details
Our handfasting ceremony will take place at Öxarárfoss Waterfall in Thingvellir National Park, Iceland—a stunning and meaningful location surrounded by natural beauty.
Getting There:
Öxarárfoss is a must-see destination on the Golden Circle, easily accessible without venturing off-road. Park at the main visitor center for Thingvellir to start your journey.
The Hike:
From the car park, follow the popular path into the gorge. The hike/walk is about 20min on well-maintained paths and a wooden boardwalk, with steps near the waterfall.
Enjoy scenic viewpoints of lakes and mountains as you walk. At the trail’s end, follow the sign to Öxarárfoss, ascend the steps, and take in the breathtaking waterfall—a perfect setting for our special moment.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pictures with attendees will NOT be taken at this time. Cold weather gear is HIGHLY suggested. The hike is easy (wooden boardwalk), but consider that you will be outside for about 1.5hrs. Wedding attire (upstage the bride & groom) is suggested for the after party.
