As the cool older brother, Eddie was Clark's role model growing up. Eddie is known for his spontaneous "Ed-ventures". He'd find cool, random places and drag Clark along without advanced notice. Now with a wife, three kids, and a dog, his ed-ventures tend to involve taking his family and friends on hikes and boat trips in every nook and cranny in the DC area. He lives every day to the fullest and for him that means lots of skiing. One time we were skiing at Whistler and the conditions were so good that he didn't let us take a lunch break! At least he gave me a 15 second break to take this picture!
Karl Meyer

Clark and Karl were classmates at Georgia Tech and now they work together at MITRE. There was even a three year period where they were in the same department at MITRE. It's been great having such a close friend for all those years. As we've aged, our interests have evolved from partying and drinking, to hiking, traveling, and eating. Recently, Karl and his wife Emily introduced Clark and June to backpacking and Karl was one of the photographers for the proposal at Dolly Sods. Even though Karl is the more experienced hiker/backpacker, Clark always seems to pack more appropriately - Karl is known for hiking without gloves in sub freezing temps!
Eli Fuchsberg

Eli is Clark's cousin from New York. They were born one month apart and have been very close their whole lives. Whenever Clark and Eli are together, epic things just seem to happen. Eli has the ability to find the coolest thing happening in the area and finding a way to get there. When he visit Clark in Madrid during study abroad, he pushed Clark and his roommate Ryan to travel to the craziest party in all of Europe, Las Fallas, full of ornate sculptures that are burned on the last day. He had the same knack for finding cool things when we were kids; Eli would always know about the cool new toy before everyone else: Pogs, Tamagachis, Razor scooters. If only he was as good at picking stocks as he is at picking toys! Eli is now married to Ana and is the father to the cutest baby - Nina.
Saam Ahmadi

Clark lived with Saam for six years, from 2013-2019. In fact, he was third wheel to Saam and his partner Kathy. Living together, the three became like family, celebrating holidays like Christmas together with "Baba" and Kathy's sister and niece. It was nice coming home from work everyday to close friends. They both helped Clark through his years of dating looking for the right person; when they met June they knew she was special!
Emma He Xie

Emma and June first met in Duke University where they pursued their master degrees in Environmental Management. Both determined to save the environment, Emma went above and beyond and represented Duke to speak at a panel at COP21 in Paris. Their friendship grew soon after they moved to D.C., and they’ve seen each other through many important stages of life. In May 2021, Emma joined a well-planned backpacking trip to Dolly Sods and witnessed the proposal of Clark and June. Emma is the most adventurous and avid traveler June has ever known – you might find her solo backpacking on an extinct volcano in Maui, strolling around the Maya ruins in Guatemala, or simply daydreaming in the middle of a busy workday about her next travel destination.
Seongkuan (SK) Wang

SK and June have known each other since middle school when they became roommates with six other crazy girls. These two were inseparable and saw each other as sisters, especially because they both have the character “君” (pronounced as Jun in Mandarin, and Kuan in Cantonese) in their names. June vividly remembers them singing out loud their favorite anime theme songs while washing laundry. After middle school, SK moved to Houston with her family, and they kept in touch and finally reunited when June came to the states for graduate school. SK now lives and works in L.A.
Henan Xu

Henan and June met at work five years ago and they quickly became good friends. After one pandemic and two job changes, it's been so great having such a close friend at work. Henan is known as "Henan-igans" - she always makes your laugh a little sillier and louder! For June, living in DC has been more fun with Henan as Henan always finds cool and unique ways to explore new places. Henan is now married to Brian and is the mother to the future Alpine skier baby, Micaela.
Kathryn Meyer

Their friendship started from a dinner party at Flora’s house – at that time, Kathryn just moved in as Flora’s roommate. It’s true that meeting someone through a friend increases the likelihood that you will like that new person more! Kathryn and June have gone on many adventures together. One time they went stand-up paddleboarding for the first time but found their boards not moving at all after 20 minutes of intense paddling. Kathryn is one of June’s favorite driving buddies – time flew by so quickly when these two chatted nonstop in June’s mini cooper while driving down the windy country roads in West Virginia. Kathryn moved to California during the pandemic and is now in L.A. starting her new job.
Flora Yifan He

Their friendship started in 2017 when Flora came to D.C. for her first full time job. Some of their favorite activities include rock climbing, dancing to Latin Music (mostly Flora attempted to teach June), exploring regional hikes and waterfalls, drinking mojitos and playing Codenames the board game. In 2020, Flora moved to California to pursue her doctoral degree at UC Santa Barbara. Now as a PhD student, her “work” life tends to involve hiking, strolling on the beach, surfing, rock climbing, and wandering in nature with her boyfriend Tommy taking photographs of wildlife.

World's cutest dog! He can do all the tricks - sit, stay, release, down, roll over, paw... He loves fetch, destroying chew toys, and welcoming mommy and daddy when they get home from work.
