Their relationship started with powerlifting, sending memes to each other, and dates that they never really knew were dates. Fall semester of 2019 marked the start of their initial friendship, and over time, they became increasingly close through their mutual love of movies, music, fitness, and deep conversations about any and all topics. As Juliet would say, “We sort of started hanging out and never wanted it to end.” Spending quality time together, they discovered that they had a true bond and the desire to learn more and more about each other. Juliet (WILLINGLY?) watched The Lord of the Rings for the first time with Rohan, who is sort of a mega-fan of the movies. Rohan visited a cat cafe for the first time with Juliet, eating pastries and cooing over the cute cats that Juliet adored so much. The couple made their relationship official on March 1st, 2020, 10 days before the impending COVID pandemic and quarantine period. Rohan and Juliet spent a few weeks facetiming and chatting on the phone during this time, but then made the high risk, but very high reward decision to move in temporarily with each other within the first month of officially dating 🤪, in order to keep seeing each other while minimizing COVID exposure. Needless to say, they’ve experienced a ton over the course of these last six years :) They have created wonderful memories together, complete with traveling to different countries (including Juliet’s motherland of Kenya), adopting Coconut and Puddin’ (the world’s most adorable kitties), and moving cities- from St. Louis, MO to their new home of Chicago, IL. On December 31, 2024, after a hike to Delicate Arch in Moab, UT, Rohan proposed to Juliet. And so begins the next chapter of their lives :3
