Downtown Mount Dora

One of our favorites and definitely unique to Florida! It may be a little cool, but it is a great spot for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. A short paddle away is Wekiva island, a nice spot for lunch and a drink, and along the way you might see some classic Florida wildlife (yes this might mean a gator)

Wekiva Springs

Another very Florida locale- Blue Springs offers a large boat tour of the area and when water gets cool there are MANATEES!

Blue Springs State Park

The first themed attraction in Orlando and it’s as good as it sounds. A favorite of both our fathers and one of the first places our families spent time together. Experience the “Gator Jumpin Jamberoo”  (yes really) and walk down a boardwalk through a gator-ful Florida wetland!
