How it all started…. Julie had just moved across the country to start a new career in a city where she knew no one and had never visited before… Matt went for a night out with some friends of a friend he describes as “frat-stars” and let’s just say, not his most desired crew…. Their eyes met from across the bar, and it was love at first sight… just kidding! Matt thought he’d find himself this “blonde cutie” to get himself away from the frat stars, and Julie thought to herself, “good luck” to whoever this guy trying to chat her up was. That’s right, folks, this couple met IRL (“in real life”) and fell in love with each other the old-fashioned way. After the first night, much to both of their surprise, their lives slowly became intertwined with the others, and they became best friends at the same time. The first year of their relationship was interesting to say the least. Despite working completely opposite work schedules, Matt and Julie were able to still make time for each other, and Matt learned to love Monday and Tuesday nights. Less than a year into their relationship, Matt’s lease was ending, and they decided to throw caution to the wind and move into Julie’s quaint 1-bedroom apartment downtown. It was a sink-or-swim situation, but they made it out the other end and have been able to grow and learn with each other through these last four years of adulthood. After many brewery dates, game nights, first-home buying, bicoastal trips, and life-changing events later, Niffey finally accepted this spare human as part of the family, and Julie and Matt decided they were going to share the rest of their lives with each other. While we’ve had so many first experiences and major life chapters together, we’re the most excited for being able to share this next one with all of our friends and family!
