What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire is the dress code for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside on the brick/paver patios. The reception will be inside the temperature controlled conservatory.

What is the typical weather for Leesburg in early November?

Answer

Crisp fall weather is typical for Leesburg in early November. The highs are typically in the low 60's and the overnight lows are typically in the 40's. But like anywhere, there are always exceptions to the "rule," so please be sure to check the weather before you pack! (Snow is not a risk in early November.) There will be a coat check in the Birkby house. While it will be unattended, our wedding is the only event in the venue.

Is the Birkby House accessible?

Answer

Yes! The ceremony and reception areas and the bathrooms are all acccessible. To avoid the front steps to enter the house, please use the side entrance directly into the ceremony patio space.

Which hotel is the "main" hotel?

Answer

We are considering the Clarion Hotel the main hotel. We will provide round trip shuttle service to the Birkby from here. Additionally, we will have exclusive use of the bar for post-reception celebrating. That said, the SpringHill Suites is a quick Lyft/Uber ride away and we encourage you to stay there if the room accomodations better fit your needs!

Will there be a shuttle between the hotel the Birkby House?

Answer

We will provide a round trip shuttle between the Clarion Hotel and the Birkby House. There will be X trips between the Clarion Hotel and the Birkby House before the ceremony at X, Y, and Z times. Please wait in the lobby ahead of time so that the shuttle can stay on time. The shuttle will begin to bring guests back to the Clarion at 9:30. The shuttle will run as many trips as necessary to return all guests to the Clarion.

What are the transportation options between the airport and the hotel?

Answer

FROM DULLES AIRPORT An Uber/Lyft ride between Dulles Airport and either hotel starts around $25 and is approximatly 20 minutes. Alternatively, the Clarion Hotel is <<HOPING>> to restart their free Dulles airport shuttle by November. SpringHill Suites does not currently have a shuttle to Dulles airport. FROM NATIONAL AIRPORT: RIDESHARE An Uber/Lyft ride from National Airport to either hotel starts around $65 and is approximatley 50 - 60 minutes. FROM NATIONAL AIRPORT: PUBLIC TRANSIT (+ rideshare) If you would like to experience the DC region public transportation system, aka the Metro, you can opt for a 1 - 1.5 hour subway ride (up to $6 per person) followed by 15-20 minute Uber/Lyft ride. In the Trip Planner, use "National Airport Metro Station" as your starting point. If you're going to the Clarion Hotel use "Asburn Metro Station - South Kiss and Ride" as your destination. I'm driving, what are the parking options throughout the weekend?

Answer

Ample free parking is available behind the Birkby House in a public parking lot. If using Google Maps, you can search for "Liberty Street Lot" or use the following address: 204 Liberty St SW, Leesburg, VA 20175. If that happens to be full, there are multiple public garages with free parking within a couple of blocks. Free parking is also available at both the Clarion Hotel and at SpringHill Suites.
