As of May 14th, the CDC has stated that vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks outdoors and in many indoor spaces. WA has updated their mask rules to follow current CDC guidelines. Our guests and staff are vaccinated and we will be outdoors 95% of the time, so masks are not required at our wedding for vaccinated folks. If you will not be fully vaccinated by July 23, please let us know ASAP. Masks will still be required for travel, so be sure to pack one if you are flying in to Seattle!
YES! Our guests believe in Science - yay! As of April, every guest we have spoken to is a) fully vaccinated, b) has their first shot or c) has an appt scheduled. If you will not be vaccinated by our wedding, please let us know.
Our wedding is 95% outdoors! We have full access to the Wayfarer grounds, so you're free to explore outside during our event. (surprise - there are alpacas you can hang with!) Our ceremony will be indoors, but a lot of the reception and cocktail hour will be held outdoors. We would recommend bringing a jacket if it gets chilly in the evening. Also, while block heels should be fine, stiletto heels might be difficult to walk around in grassier areas outside.
Weather on the island in July is typically perfect; cool mornings with warm afternoons and very little precipitation. Do plan on cooler temperatures in the evening as the sun sets.
There is limited parking at our venue. Do not plan to drive and park at the venue. We are providing a shuttle for guests to and from the venue.
YES! There will be pick-up/drop off spots on the island and at the Whidbey Ferry Terminal. If Drew or Julie has not reached out to you yet about a pick up time/location, please contact us :) If you are not staying on island, plan on parking in Mukilteo, walking onto the ferry, and being shuttled to the venue.
Ride share services are incredibly limited. There are two local taxi services All Island Express Taxi (360-341-8294) and South Whidbey Taxi Service (360-678-6666). On weekdays ONLY, Island Transit Bus is free. (islandtransit.org).
Cocktail attire please. We wanna see you all lookin fancy-ish! buttt we also want you to feel comfortable and we'll be outside on a beautiful farm on an island - so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose.
EARLY! Plan on arriving at least 2-3 ferries earlier than the one you need (about 60-90 minutes early). Weekends are very busy. We highly encourage our guests to try to arrive to Whidbey on Thursday, the day before the ceremony. If you are taking the ferry to the ceremony, please plan to park at the ferry terminal in Mukilteo and walk on the ferry. Walk-ons are accepted immediately. The ferry schedule is linked on our Travel Page.
If you've never taken a ferry before, it's fun! And super easy! So no stress :) You can drive your car right onto the ferry at the Mukilteo terminal in Mukilteo, WA. You should plan on arriving early to the ferry terminal, and will wait in a line with other cars. After paying your ticket, the ferry staff will direct your car into a lane where you will wait until they can load the ferry. After the short 15 minute ferry ride (definitely get out of you car to explore the deck!), you will return to you car and drive right off the ferry at the Clinton Terminal. Langley is a short 10 minute drive away. If you are walking onto the ferry for the day of the wedding, please park at the terminal in Mukilteo, walk on to the ferry, and then wait for the shuttle pickup in Clinton. Ferry schedules and an alternate driving route that skips the ferry can be found on our Travel Page of this website.
