In July of 2016, we were only sixteen and seventeen years old and heading off to a ten-day Summer program at Hellenic College Holy Cross in Boston. Although we met during those ten days, nothing really came of it. We ended up meeting for the second time at the annual Alumni retreat. Sparks flew, and we couldn't keep our eyes off each other the entire weekend. We had the best time that weekend. We also found out that our colleges were on the same Fenway campus in Boston! Nick started his first semester at MassArt, and Julianna her first semester at MCPHS. We kept constant communication from the time of the retreat until our first days at school in Boston. We could hardly contain our excitement to be so close to one another for our college careers. In July, we received our dorm assignments. Another God wink here: we were both placed in the same dorm building, the only dorm building shared between our schools! At this point, we definitely knew there would be no avoiding each other when we began our college journeys. So we spent those first days and weeks walking all over the city together and with our friends. By the end of that same month we decided to make things official. We went to every Greek festival we could find that season. We took an Uber absolutely everywhere, attended the Boston Cathedral for liturgy and Orthodox Christian Fellowship, went to many of the Orthodoxy on Tap socials that were hosted at the Uno's Pizzeria in Kenmore Square, and so much more. As the end of our four years on campus came, the pandemic had altered how graduation would happen. We did not graduate in person. Instead, we road tripped from Boston to Florida to see Julianna's parents. By the end of that year, Nick received Julianna's parents' blessing, and in May of 2022 Julianna said yes! We've been overjoyed and excited about spending our lives together since early in our relationship. To see all of our family and friends celebrating with us will no doubt be one of our greatest memories. We are so thankful that the CrossRoad Summer program brought our worlds together, and that our paths have aligned. God is so Good!
