When you mention Kentucky you can't forget about horses. The Kentucky Horsepark is conveniently located off of I-75 just north of Lexington. The grounds are beautiful and is surrounded by green pastures and rolling fences, stunning horses of all kinds, and is the home of the American Saddlebred Museum.
The Spring Meet will be in full force during your visit. Keeneland is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon soaking up some Kentucky traditions. A national historic landmark where general admission is very affordable. There is a gift shop onsite, tour offerings, tailgating, and, of course, lots of horses. Keeneland races are fun to watch even if you don't want to place any bets!
