There is an excellent dive location for PADI certied scuba divers nearby (one of the best in Central America), at the Catalina Islands off the coast of Playa Flamingo. This dive spot averages a depth of about 45 feet below the water surface. You will have to have your PADI certification up to date and prices are $85 if you have your own equipment or $110 if you need to rent equipment. This price is per person for a 2-tank dive, and it would be an additional $65 if you needed to take a refresher course.
We have an excellent bilingual certified surf instructor who happens to be a certified lifeguard as well! Surf lessons are readily available and are 2-hour lessons. Prices are based on the size of the group as shown below. The best time for surf lessons depends on the high tide.
