We would love to do things together everyday, but also understand that this is a vacation for you all as well. Please feel free to adventure off on your own if you wish to do so. However, your presence is needed for the wedding on July 21 (Sunday).
If you are an American citizen, you do not need a passport. For our international friends, yes you do. However, if you would like to adventure off to a BVI to explore or do an excursion, you WILL need a passport. We recommend that EVERYONE gets a passport before attending the wedding.
For the wedding, we would like everyone to be "dressed up." However, we know it will be hot in July in St. John. Please wear what makes you feel comfortable, but also remember that this is a wedding and there will be a photographer!
No matter what airport you are departing from, you will need to arrive at St. Thomas Airport (STT). After landing, you will collect your baggage. You will be able to catch a transportation taxi from the airport to the ferry. Depending on the time, you will be taken to either the Red Hook ferry dock or the Charlotte Amalie ferry dock. From there you will take a ferry over to St. John. Taxis or rental cars will be available to take you to your lodging. No, I'm NOT pregnant (LOL). Due to legal reasons we needed to have a small ceremony in December in order to take care of paperwork in order to make our dream wedding in St. John possible.
St John is extremely casual and comfortable. Other than a "nice" outfit for the wedding, pack casual clothes - bathing suits, shorts, t shirts, flip flops and a pair of sturdy shoes for hiking. We also recommend a small backpack to carry things to the beach or on hikes.
