I've known Val since we were 3 or 4 taking swim lessons at the YMCA. We grew up together like sisters, never going to the same school but dancing at the same studio and competing and cheering each other on at swim meets. I love this girl; she's beyond sweet and caring!
Stephen Magnuson
Best Man
Stephen and I go way back, all the way back to 3rd grade. We spent countless hours at the ice rink together, on road trips to play hockey all over the west, and generally being pains in the butt. If we weren't riding our go-karts between neighborhoods or skateboarding, we were shooting each other with paintball guns. We had a great childhood and adolescence together and that has carried into our adult lives. We've both grown to love the outdoors and skiing and those passions have taken us all over the Western US. We have traded the honor of being each other's best man and I can't wait to see where he and Julia go from here!

My first official sister! Katy and I grew up together but our relationship blossomed as adults when Michael and her got serious! (hehe). I'm so lucky to have Katy in my life. She's kind, giving, patient and crazy creative! I'm always amazed at what she comes up with and find myself wanting one of whatever she's created.

Emily's middle brother and our staff physician! Everyone knows that I need a few! I have kept him plenty busy over the years and he takes the late night panicked phone calls and wrecked Christmas vacations in stride. I couldn't be more appreciative! He could school most of us on the basketball court and I hope to never play him in 1-on-1! We've had a chance to travel to some great places in the US and can't wait to see where our next adventure takes us.

Eva and I first met when she came to NYC before flying to Europe to celebrate her graduation from Duke Law School! I never thought of Eva as only Julian's sister. I knew immediately we were going to build our own friendship outside of him. Eva has a sense of adventure similar to Julian but with a more logical outlook - something I greatly appreciate!
Brendon Mitchell

Brendon is our staff physician-in-training! We will be well cared for if/when I find a way to hurt myself! Brendon and I went to Colgate together and lived on the same floor our freshman year. He was a transfer student who started playing rugby and we went to Ireland together with the team. Seabiscuit, as we like to call him, didn't last long at a rugger and was sadly taken to the glue factory after his first season but remained a great friend and whooped me into shape on multiple occasions. We love Brendon and Cara (also Colgate '11) and their son Wes! If anyone catches Brendon eating dessert, you'll win a prize!

Diana and I have known each other since I was born. Diana was always my cool, older, stylish cousin who I looked up to. I followed her around as child, copying whatever she was doing. She's been a confidant my whole life. Her quiet, peaceful personality emanates calmness and allows you to just be yourself.

Emily's oldest brother and great mentor. Joey, as we call him, is a historian and teacher and loves to tell stories. If you've got questions about American or World history, he will set the record straight. Also, if you want theories or clarification on Game of Thrones, he's your guy! We've spent plenty of evenings in Wheeling together and he's done a great job of taking care of me when I've needed it. I'm excited to have him as a brother-in-law!

AJ and I met via Catherine (intro to come) in 2013 when I was living in NYC. Our friendship was meant to be! AJ has the most amazing way of connecting with people and making everyone around her feel included and at ease.

Our resident lawyer-in-training and instigator. Nathan and I went to rival elementary schools (yes it's a thing; Go Pirates) but became instant friends in junior high. High school was a wild time and I had the distinguished honor of being his co-president of the Madd Dogg Student Section. We've done some world traveling and been all over the west together. Every time we're together, memories are made and laughs are shared. I'd like to think I had something to do with his landing in Denver for law school and I have been very happy that he moved back from Japan to a city I love visiting! We've got a great friendship ahead of us and I'm excited to see what adventures are next.

My first friend at Colgate. Cait and I met the first night of school at a silly freshman party in Curtis Hall. We hit it off and became inseparable. I can't look back on my Colgate experience without a memory of Cait popping up.

Mikey D was my first best friend at Colgate and we've remained great friends ever since. From co-founding our own "fraternity" Alpha Chi (Adventure Club, not a real thing) after quitting a real one to running the Colgate Men's Rugby Club (on and off the pitch), we've made some awesome memories all over the world. We've been to Ireland twice and studied abroad in Australia together. Mike's birthday party in NYC was the main reason that Emily and I were reacquainted and I owe him so much for reintroducing us! Thank you Mike! He and I lived together for 2.5 years and I'm so excited to see where our lives will take us from here. LA and OKC are just our temporary locales and I'm looking forward to living closer so we can hang more with the frenz!

Jenn and I met because her grandparents lived down the street from me. At the time, Jenn lived in Florida and would visit her grandparents in the summer. Gram Pat came knocking on our door asking if I could come play, we were maybe 5? When Jenn moved back to Wheeling when we were in high school we were attached at the hip. We would spend the night at each other's homes on school nights because our parents knew we would pass out by 9! (I've been an old lady for most of my life). I adore Jenn. She's beyond talented and has the most amazing, carefree laugh

My first bud in OKC, Matt has been there with me every step of the way. Two Wyoming boys moving to the big city was a big change but we've had each other's backs throughout it all. Matt was my roommate, then tenant, and now groomsman! We may run an oil and gas company together one day, watch out! He and his yellow lab Codi are quite the team in the field. He's a great friend and my hunting guide!

Cath and I met while I was working my first job in NYC at Mediavest. Catherine and I had a blast going out, dancing our hearts out and then recovering the next day by ordering seamless and watching movies on her couch. Catherine brought so much joy to my life in New York. She has an infectious personality and loves to laugh.
Tyler Philpot

Tyler and I met through mutual Colgate acquaintances back in 2012. He moved into the condo in Denver after couch surfing around the city for a few months. It didn't take long for him to fall in love with his former landlord who lived just down the street, and I couldn't be happier. We've taken some really fun trips to the mountains together and he is quickly becoming an excellent climber and dad! I'm lucky to have him as a friend and role model!
