This article has very good & accurate information on traveling in Delhi as a tourist, including transportation and safety considerations. Read the whole thing if you are coming! One note: the article mentions that the metro is safe and efficient (which it is), but it will also be the most crowded place you have ever visited. 0 personal space. Just take Uber everywhere. It will be really cheap.
